I. Subject Title: Mathematics 2 II.

Subject Description: The second grade math curriculum builds a strong foundation and understanding of basic mathematical concepts. The curriculum focuses on critical thinking skills, organization, mathematical accuracy, communication skills, and responsibility. Students will use problem-solving strategies; develop number sense; graph data, apply measurement, explore geometry, develop automaticity; and of basic addition and subtraction facts through 20. Students will learn through exploration of concepts by using materials and making connections to other mathematical concepts and to their world. A major goal of second grade is to develop life-long learners who love math and can use math in their daily lives. III. General Objectives: At the end of the school year the grade 2 pupils are expected to; The clear understanding of the concept of larger whole numbers including money, To read and write numbers in symbols and in words Understand the concept of the four fundamental operations of whole numbers and applies the concept in a variety of problem situation, Understand the unit fractions and enjoy or appreciate and also apply the concept on separating an object or group of objects and comparing them Understand the basic properties of geometric shapes and applies them in simple tessellation and symmetry. I. Subject Title: English 2 II. Subject Description: The Grade 2 English program promotes effective oral and written communication. The program is based on the writing process with all grammar, usage, mechanics, and spelling skills introduced, practiced and reviewed in the context of writing. Writing skills are taught through mini lessons and conferences. Reinforcement is provided through pre-writing, drafting, and revising, editing, and publishing activities. Oral language and listening skills are developed through daily formal and informal speaking opportunities. Students begin the transition to cursive. III. I. Subject Title: Character Education 2 ( Edukasyong Pagpapahalaga) II. Subject Description: Ang asignaturang ito ay tumutugon sa pangkasalakuyang suliranin na kinakaharap ng mga mag-aaral. Ito ay isang interaktibong proseso ng pagkatuto ng tamang pag-uugali na nakapokus sa prayor na kaalaman, karanassan at matapat na nararamdaman sa lipunang ginagalawan ng bawat mag-aaral.
