Independent research firm RootMetrics awards top spot to AT&T in recent wireless network performance test
ROCHESTER, NY, JULY 9, 2013 AT&T* wireless customers in Rochester, NY, are enjoying the network ranked highest for combined/overall voice, data and text performance by an independent mobile research and testing organization. Seattle-based RootMetrics today released a wireless network performance study for Rochester, which names AT&T in a tie as the overall RootMetrics RootScore Award winner for its combination of call, text and data Internet performance.** The RootMetrics award is based on analysis of more than 19,637 wireless test calls, texts and data transmissions conducted during May, 2013. AT&T is tied for the highest rank in Rochester for overall network performance, according to our research conducted in May, 2013. We tested call, data and text performance across all networks in the Rochester area, including over 4G LTE networks. As a result, AT&T tied for the RootScore Award for overall performance in the area, said Bill Moore, RootMetrics President and CEO. AT&T launched 4G LTE*** in Rochester in September, 2012, and it plans to expand its 4G LTE network to cover 300 million people nationwide by year-end 2014.
