COORDINATOR (MATERNITY LEAVE COVER) EXPLORE INNOVATION INITIATIVE AND CIM SHARED LEARNING PILOT PROGRAMME

The EXPLORE Innovation Initiative was launched by NUI Galway Students Union and NUI Galway in January 2012 to support students and staff to work in collaboration on innovative new projects to benefit the university and the wider community. More information is available at www.su.nuigalway.ie/explore Cim is an academic peer support scheme based on the well-established Peer Assisted Study Sessions/Peer Assisted Learning (PASS/PAL) model. A one-year pilot programme will run from September 2013. More information is available at www.su.nuigalway.ie/ceim The Coordinator will be employed by NUI Galway Students Union on a fixedterm contract to cover maternity leave. (Full time. 5-day week). Interview date: 7 August 2013. Start date: Monday, 19 August 2013. Training: 30 & 31 August 2013. Job Description: Coordinate all aspects of the day-to-day running of the EXPLORE and Cim programmes. Design and manage all aspects of programme marketing/promotion to include posters, flyers, email marketing, social media and content marketing, website updates, lecture call outs, PR etc. Manage the EXPLORE application process, announce successful projects and facilitate delivery of these projects. Provide timely support to programme participants. Organise and facilitate training, and chair weekly debriefing meetings with students and staff. Support Cim student leaders by assessing their sessions and providing feedback. Run enticing events to showcase the work of EXPLORE and provide networking opportunities for participants. Coordinate evaluation of the two programmes and report on project and financial progress. Communicate with various communities within the university.

Requirements Educated to degree level. Strong organisational skills with an aptitude for attention to detail. Minimum two years experience in project management and marketing. Commitment to providing excellent customer service. Passion for new project delivery. Experience of mentoring and supporting others. Ability to facilitate training and chair meetings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent work ethic and commitment to deadlines and deliverables. Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team. Energy, vision, creative thinking and a passion for innovation. Be flexible to longer working hours and prepared to undertake limited travel, should it be required.
