REMEMBER LOTS WIFE Luke 17v31-33 & Genesis 19v12-26 Our Lord Jesus Christ cautions us to remember Lots

Looking back as a believer may also include putting ones heart in the things of this world hence trying to derive security from them-Lots wife probably felt a great sense of loss concerning all her belongings left in Sodom. She left part of her family, house(s) and all that she had gathered throughout her lifetime. Nevertheless, Jesus warned in verse 33 of Luke 17 that, Whosoever will save his life shall lose it and whosoever shall lose his life will find it. What a profound statement! Fixing our eyes on what we see, have and own can be such a fatality since ones life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions; Luke 12v15. It often proves fatal to walk by sight instead of walking by faith-2 CORINTHIANS 5V7. It killed Lots wife. Friend, are you walking by sight in your daily endeavours/pursuits? You need to change today because sight normally provokes Gods wrath. The other thing which the Saviour wants us to remember about Lots wife is: # The danger of disobeying God-given instructions: Now, this is the most critical since the spirit of disobedience is highly contaminative; 1 CORINTHIANS 15V33. Lot was the first one to disobey Gods instruction bidding him to escape to the mountain but instead he went to a nearby town called Zoar. This is the beginning of destruction to many; instead of fully obeying God we normally opt to what we think is the best for us. This is normally a recipe for disaster; Lot, because of His choice had an incestuous affair with his two daughters and finally died a fugitive! The ultimate disobedience of Lots wife was a result of her acquaintance with her husband-her disobedient husband imparted the spirit of disobedience unto her as a result of her association with him. Finally, there is good news for you, what Lot has failed to do; that is escaping to the mountain is still available to you. You can take a decision of escaping to the mountain of God-surely it is far more superior to that which Lot had to escape to. It is Mount Calvary-where Jesus bled and died for you. Escape there now and you sins will be forgiven.
