• Anthropologist by education has done post graduation in Social Anthropology from Dr.
H.S.Gaur University (formerly known as Sagar University, Madhya Pradesh, India) in 1991.

Projects/ Programme Undertaken

1. Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India – Cater various needs of the disadvantaged
minority communities including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists & Parsees. Presently
responsible in managing Administration, Establishment and Parliament Sections of the
Ministry.
2. National Commission for Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes(NCSCST)/ National
Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), M/o Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt.
of India - Responsible to cater various needs and demands of scheduled castes
communities. Presently posted in the Atrocity and Protection of Civil Rights Wing and
working in unison with Home Departments and Social Welfare Departments of all States
and UTs and also with other stake groups.
3. Town & Country Planning Organization (TCPO), M/o Urban Development & Poverty
Alleviation, Govt. of India - Various Urban development Projects like IDSMT projects,
Satellite Township projects in various States have been catered to. The nature of job
involved intensive study on socio-economic condition of town/slum dwellers and assist the
Town Planners to develop urban infrastructure suitable for the target groups keeping in view
the religious/ ethnic composition and cultural ethos of the people of the project area.
4. All India Radio (AIR) M/o Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India - Issues like
listening behaviors and trend for listening of radio programmes have been assessed. These
includes Firm & Radio Program which deals with rural masses engaged in firm based
cultivation/kitchen garden farming etc. besides, audience specific other programmes like
programme for women, children, youth etc. During the stint with AIR, many studies have
been conducted in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, West Bengal etc.
5. Child Relief & You (CRY), Non Govt. Organization:- Many socio-economic
development projects/ programmes including income generation, adult & continuing
education, neonatal – postnatal, HIV/AIDS and other health related awareness camps,
sanitation and environment related, capacity building and related issues were handled.
Responsible in catering 21 NGOs located in eastern / northeastern regions in the country
primarily responsible in catering needs of the children and also involve in enhancing
general socio-economic condition of the people in their respective project areas.

6. Indian Institute of Bio-Social Research & Development (IBRAD), Non Govt.
Organization: - Project on Joint Forest Management (JFM)/ Community Based Forest
Management had handled during the stint with IBRAD. The emphasis of JFM was to
improve socio-economic condition of the people living in fringed areas around the forest so
as to lesson burden on the fragile forest in southern West Bengal. Many training
programmes for the senior IFS (India Forest Services) officers were organized in
collaboration with the IIT, Kharagpur, M/o Environment & Forest, Govt. of India and Ford
Foundation who acted as sponsoring agency.
A project on mother-child health awareness campaign was launched in the delta region of
Sunderban, West Bengal where the undersigned was also involved.

Workshops, Training and Conference Attended


• Seminar on “Issues emerging out from Jharkhand Movement” held at Bokaro, Bihar
(now Jhankhand) in the year 1990. A paper also presented during the occasion as one of
the keynote addressee.
• Attended workshops on “Transactional Analysis on Human Behavior” in 1991/1992 at
Kolkata
• “NGO Auditing” – a workshop attended in the year 1993 at Hotel Park, Kolkata
organized by IBRAD.
• “Training on Joint Forest Management” organized at IIT, Kharagpur in 1992. The M/o
Environment & Forest, Govt. of India/ Govt. of West Bengal and Ford Foundation as
sponsoring agency organized the training.
• Attended Field exposure training on the issues related to Non-Wood Forest Produce and
sustainable regeneration of natural Sal forest at Bangalore in 1991. The programme was
organized by IISc, Bangalore in collaboration with TERI and Ford Foundation as
sponsoring agency.
• Understanding Issues related to operational functioning of NGOs – a field based
exposure training attended in 1993 at Bundelkhand area, Uttar Pradesh.
• Workshop on Entrepreneurship and development of Schedules Castes had attended
which was organized by NIED, Bhopal at Bhubaneswar fro December 21 – 25, 2008.
• Development of Scheduled Castes – a national training organized at National Institute of
Rural Development (NIRD), M/o Rural Development, Govt. of India at Hyderabad from
21 – 26 August, 2008.

Field Experience
• Having experience in the field of forestry and community development including the
area of mother child health and ecological development programme. The area of work
has been tribal districts of Midnapur, Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum, Jalpaiguri and
Darjeeling in West Bengal, part of Jharkhand, Bihar, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh,
Orissa, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar Island. Among the tribal
communities have worked in forestry related projects are Santhal, Lodha, Kheria,
Munda, Oraon Nagesia etc. in West Bengal; Apatani, Dafla, Mishmi in Arunachal
Pradesh; Baiga, Chenchu, Kora in Orissa; Bhil, Gond, Karku in Madhya Pradesh and
Admanese, Onge Nicobarese in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
• Having worked extensively in Sundarban delta area on mother- child reproductive
health system, pre-natal and post-natal care of mother health and hygiene pattern of the
areas where studies/ projects have been launched by IBRAD.

extensively in the state of West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar and North-Eastern States to
monitors projects funded by CRY in the area of children and adult education, income

• During the stint with AIR, have conducted listeners survey including Farm House Radio
Program, Women’s program etc. in the State of Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.
• In National Commission, get acquainted with numerous sociopolitical problems the
poorest of the poor including tribal are subjected to in our country. During National
Commission tenure, have made many field visit to enquire atrocity complaints in the
state of Delhi, Haryana, West Bengal, Orissa & Sikkim so far.
