High Level Panel of Eminent Persons with the mandate to provide guidance and recommendations on the post2015 development agenda
May 2013 - The High Level Panel published its Report making recommendations for the post-2015 development agenda
Following the 2010 MDG Summit Outcome Document the Secretary General focused on the post-2015 development agenda and established:
Special Adviser on post2015 development planning Reports to Secretary General 1. June 2012 "Realising the future we want for all" which included the vision for a post2015 development agenda 2. March 2013 "A renewed global partnership" which included suggestions for a new partnership format
The aim of these two different processes is to develop one global post-2015 development agenda with sustainable development at its centre
The inter-agency Technical Support Team was established under the UN System Task Team umbrella to provide inputs and support the Open Working Group
Coordination across different work streams is provided through an informal senior coordination group of 4 Assistant Secretaries General
2012 Rio +20 Conference on Sustainable Development started an inclusive intergovernmental process to prepare a set of sustainable goals
Rio +20 Outcome Document mandated the establishment of the Open Working Group with the task of preparing a proposal on SDGs to be submitted to the General Assembly
The Open Working Group is complemented by the Expert Committee on a sustainable development financing strategy
Rio +20 established the High Level Political Forum to provide political leadership, guidance and recommendations for sustainable development
