DETAILED PROJECT REPORT (DPR) FOR CONSTRUCTION OF MOTHER CHILD CARE CHARITABLE HOSPITAL BY MOTHER CHILD CARE INSTITUTE(MCCI) AT AGRA (UTTAR PRADESH),INDIA

GENISIS 1. The Mother Child Care Institute (MCCI) is registered under Indian Society Registration Act 1860 which works to improve the lives of mothers and children in local communities by implementing programmes focused on health, nutrition, education, and sustainable skills training. As a Non Profit independent organization, MCCI work with underprivileged communities regardless of their color,creed, race, cast or gender. MCCI has taken an initiative in this field by proposing to open a Mother Child Care Charitable Hospital for under privileged at Agra (Uttar Pradesh) as a part of Project Arogya. The underprivileged children which are malnourished have lowered immunity to infection and are more likely to suffer from common childhood ailments such as anemia, diarrhoeal diseases and acute respiratory infections. Those who survive may be locked into a vicious cycle of recurring sickness and faltering growth, often with irreversible damage to their cognitive and social development. Community support of MCCI is outstanding. We have an excellent Community Advisory Council of over 40 community members including parents, health care providers, social service agency representatives, Doctors and other hospital representatives.

SCOPE OF PROJECT 4. Child Survival and Safe Motherhood. A specific Child Survival and Safe Motherhood (CSSM) programme which was launched in 1992-93 with the financial assistance of World Bank and UNICEF, ensures effective ante-natal care, safe delivery, immunization of mother and infant, control of diarrhoeal diseases and respiratory infections, nutritional education and provision of basic medical care. Even after decades of freedom, India is struggling to provide basic health services to its people. According to government sources, in India 45 children die every hour due to respiratory infections. 1 child dies every 2 minutes due to diarrhoea. And annually, about 2 million children under 5 years of age die due to preventable diseases. The situation calls for timely care and diagnosis which can reduce the incidence of morbidity and mortality especially among children and women. Mother Child Care Charitable Hospital is one such special initiative to provide health care services to meet the immediate health care needs of the marginalized community in remote rural areas and slums through stand alone camps. Mother Child Care Charitable Hospital sponsored by MCCI organizes customized health camps offering comprehensive health services curative, preventive, promotive , referral &

consultative, to a large number of people in selected intervention areas. Mother Child Care Charitable Hospital aims at reaching out to maximum populace in limited time and expects to improve the health seeking behavior among the community. The uniqueness of the model lies in its comprehensive approach where health promotion and prevention are given equal importance while curative care is administered. 7. Save Girl Child & Stop Female Feticide. How sad, many girls missing from our country are found buried in some graveyard.... India is growing dynamically in every field. Today, the boom in economy, innovative technologies and improved infrastructure has become nations pride. The country has witnessed advancements in all fields but bias against a girl child is still prevailing in the country. Female feticide and infanticide is not the only issues with a girl child in India. At every stage of life she is discriminated and neglected for basic nutrition, education and living standard. We all are proud citizens of India. The need of hour is to realize our responsibilities and give a halt to this evil crime. What can we do to curb the brutal and undesirable practice of mass killing girls? A determined drive initiated by Mother Child Care Institute by means of spark to light the lamp and show the world that we all are part of the great Mother India. All the girl child deliveries at proposed Mother Child Care Charitible Hospital will be done absolutely free of cost as a part of noble cause and service to the mankind.

LOCATION OF THE PROJECT & AREA OF LAND 8. The Proposed MCC Charitable Hospital is located at Alkapuri which is in Dayal Bag North of Historic City of Agra in Republic of India. The dimension of the land which is readily available and free from any incumbencies is as under:(a) (b) (c) Ist Plot Plot No 6 of 225 Sq Yds. 2nd Plot Plot No 7 of 225 Sq Yds. 3rd Plot Extra Land of 100 Sq Yds.

9. The location is four sides open and offers excellent avenues for a Charitible Hospital as there is no Charitible Hospital in that location. Built up area around the proposed loc facilitates all basic facilities viz. Road,Electricity etc. PATIENTS CAPACITY 10. The capacity of the Patient under Project Arogya will be as under:(a) Out Door Patient Department for approx 200 patients per day. (b) 50 Bed Hospitals for In Door Patient Department.

MODE OF OPERATION 11. Mother Child Care Institutes promotes and advocates & better health for all among underprivileged children, establish the process to embrace these children into state mainstream in a progressive manner, facilitate them to emerge as productive assets, and set the foundation for better Mother Child Care for population stabilization. This can be achieved only when charity begins at home and maximum persons are provided quality health services free of cost. The following mode of operation is suggested:(a) All the patients will be provided with quality health services at nominal charges of Rs 30.00 (b) Minor Operation will be carried out at the cost of Rs 500.00 (c) Major Operation will be carried out the cost of Rs 1000.00

APPROXIMATE ESTIMATE OF THE PROJECT 13. The approximate estimate is sub divided into two parts Capital Head and Revenue Head. The Capital Head expenditure is the one time requirement which is required to create the infrastructure and revenue head expenditure is required for sustaining the Project Arogya. 14. The detailed calculation is as per Appendix. The details of estimated expenditure are as under:(a) Capital Head - Rs 23,48,255,55 (b) Revenue Head - Rs 44,16,000

15. Grand Total Expenditure (Capital One Time & Revenue For First Year) is of Rs 23,92,41,555.00 ( Rupees Twenty Three Crores Ninety Two Lakhs Forty One Thousand Five Hundred Fifty Five Only)

LAYOUT OF THE PROJECT 16. The layout of the project will be as per floor plan made by the Architect. The broad requirements are as under:All basic amenities of a modern hospital. Two High Standard of Operation Theater. High Standard of in Bed Facility: approx 40 rooms (expansion plan) Indoor catering for the patient Accommodation for Relative Accompanying the patients for approx 50 pers (as part of expansion plan)

BENEFITS OF THE PROJECTS 17. Mother Child Care initiative of opening a Charitable Hospital a part of ongoing Project Arogya will give impetus to Mother Child Care Health:(a) Inadequate health facilities problems will be resolved. (b) Shortage of health professionals will be overcome. (c) Mass benefit of society leads to upliftment of mankind. (d) Save Girl Child & Stop Female feticide and infanticide. 18. The Charitible Hospital as proposed by Mother Child care Institute under their ongoing Project Arogya comes up at the defined location then the aforesaid drawbacks will be neutralized to a greater extent.

Mother Child Care promotes and advocates & better health through their Project Arogya for all among underprivileged children & mother, establish the process to embrace these children into state mainstream in a progressive manner, facilitate them to emerge as productive assets, and set the foundation for ultimate aim of nation building so that every domiciled person can walk with their head high.
