The Power Plant was completed in Nov 1998, with CCGT operation in 2001. In Dec 2003 it was acquired by present owner and will operate till 31 st March 2011 The Power Plant is a CCGT plant based on 74MW GE 6FA gas turbine (GT). The exhaust gas is the main heat source to its heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). There is a facility to supplementary fire HRSG to give additional steam. The condenser is sized to allow full steam turbine bypass with GT operating alone. HRSG feeds condensing STG directly coupled to a separate generator giving 53 MW. The exhaust steam fram the steam turbine is condensed in a water cooled condenser. The GT has dual fuel capability to burn low Btu synthetic gas and natural gas. The 6FA GT configuration includes an 18-stage compressor, six combustion chambers, a three-stage turbine and shaft supported on two bearings. The GT auxiliaries for the 6FA are located off-base in separate enclosures. The basic systems include the following: Lubricating oil, Fuel gas, Water injection, Gas control, Compressor water wash, Atomizing air & Cooling water system.

Heat recovery steam generator The HRSG was supplied by NEM of the Netherlands. The design is a two pressure, two drum system, producing stearn for a non-reheat condensing Steam Turbine. Supplemenlary firing in the form of (Coen) duct burners is supplied 10 augment steam production and increase CCGT electrical output.

The HRSG comprises HP/LP economizers, evaporators, drums and super-heaters, each circuit served by one forced circulation pump used during start up. The HP circuit supplies the steam turbine whilst the LP circuit feeds the turbine and condenser air ejectors. Two 100 per cent duty boiler feed-water pumps are provided, one pump being in operation whilst the second is in standby mode. The feed pump extracts water from the condensate system and delivers water to the HP steam system via the HP economizers. le plant is due to be mothballed after 31 " March 2011 and full operating results and major Itage reports are available on site during inspection.
