REPORT ON INTERNET BROWSER IN INDONESIA

A. Executive summary
[1] 75.6% accesses the internet at home
Upon 10 people being asked, there are more than 7 persons accessing the internet At home. The next place is At the office with 56.2%. More than 70% of male and female group usually access the internet At home. The next place is At the office with 54.2% of 177 male respondents and 61.5% of 65 female respondents.

[2] Laptop and PC are mostly used for accessing the internet
Most respondents use Laptop and PC as their main gadgets for accessing the internet. In particular, Laptop is mostly used with 78.1%. Besides, Smartphone is also used to access the internet, account for 57.0%. There are 77.4% male respondents and 80.0% female respondents accessing the internet by Laptop. The next choice in both these groups is PC with 61.0% and 61.5% for each group.

[3] Mozilla Firefox is at top awareness, account for 95.5%


More than 95% of 242 surveyed people know Mozilla Firefox. Besides, it also reaches the highest position in TOM of respondents with 57.0%. The following internet browsers are Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Opera with respectively percentage of 89.3%, 83.9% and 83.5%. More than 90% of both male and female group knows about Mozilla Firefox. Also, it reaches the highest awareness in TOM with respectively account for 55.4% in male group and 61.5% in female group. However, there is difference in term of the next internet browser as male respondents choose Google Chrome and female ones select Internet Explorer.

A. Executive summary
[4] 60.7% of respondents use Mozilla Firefox most often
Upon 10 people being asked, there are more than 6 persons using Mozilla Firefox most often. The next one is Google Chrome with 27.7%. Not only male respondents but also female ones use Mozilla Firefox most often. The next is Google Chrome chosen by 29.9% male respondents and 21.5% female ones.

[5] 92.1% uses current internet browser for Reading news, blog, e-book, documents, etc.
Reading news, blog, e-book, documents, etc. and Social media are top 2 activities that more than 80% of the surveyed people usually do using their current internet browser. In particular, Reading news, blog, ebook, documents, etc. is mostly chosen, account for 92.1%. Reading news, blog, e-book, documents, etc. and Social media are top 2 activities that more than both male and female group do. While the next 3 activities in male group are Watching movies / video clips, Internet banking and Online shopping, female group usually do Online shopping, Watching movies / video clips and Looking for cooking recipe.

[6] Laptop and PC are top 2 gadgets for using current internet browser
Laptop is mostly used by 77.3% respondents for using their current internet browser. The next one is PC with 61.2%. Furthermore, none of 242 surveyed people use Pablet or TV (with Internet access) for their current internet browser. Not only male but also female group use Laptop and PC as their main gadgets for their current internet browser. Besides, Smartphone and Tablet are also used by these two groups.

A. Executive summary
[7] Stable and not crashed is the top benefit of current internet browser
74.0% agrees that the current internet browser is Stable and not crashed. Besides, Downloading new pages faster is another one benefit of it, account for 64.0%. Both male and female group agree that their current internet browser is Stable and not crashed, respectively account for 77.4% and 64.6%. For the second benefit, while male group chooses Download new pages faster (68.4%), female one selects Able to open many websites (61.5%).

[8] Internet Explorer was mostly used in the past, account for 55.4%
In the past, there is 55.4% of 242 surveyed people using Internet Explorer. Firefox is the next internet browser which was used often in the past, account for 21.9%. Internet Explorer was used mostly by both male and female group with 53.7% and 60.0% respectively. Besides, male group also used Opera and female used Mozilla Firefox in the past.

[9] More than 50% wants to change to another browser


There is more than 50% intending to change to another browser in which 16.5% is quite sure about their intention. When asking about intention of changing to use another browser, more than 45% of male and female group agrees. However, there is about 30% who are not sure about their intention.

[10] 55.6% wants to change to use Google Chrome in the future


More than 50% wants to use Google Chrome in the future. The next one is Mozilla Firefox with 21.6%. Google Chrome is mostly chosen by both male and female group which are respectively account for 52.5% and 64.1%. The next internet browsers are Mozilla Firefox and Opera.

2. Gadgets for accessing the internet


Laptop and PC are mostly used for accessing the internet
Most respondents use Laptop and PC as their main gadgets for accessing the internet. In particular, Laptop is mostly used with 78.1%. Besides, Smartphone is also used to access the internet, account for 57.0%.

Laptop is mostly used in both male and female group
There are 77.4% male respondents and 80.0% female respondents accessing the internet by Laptop. The next choice in both these groups is PC with 61.0% and 61.5% for each group.

3. Awareness of internet browsers


Mozilla Firefox is at top awareness, account for 95.5%
More than 95% of 242 surveyed people know Mozilla Firefox. Besides, it also reaches the highest position in TOM of respondents with 57.0%. The next internet browsers are Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Opera with respectively percentage of 89.3%, 83.9% and 83.5%.

3. Awareness of internet browsers


Mozilla Firefox has best awareness in both male and female group
More than 90% of both male and female group knows about Mozilla Firefox. Also, it reaches the highest awareness in TOM with respectively account for 55.4% in male group and 61.5% in female group. However, there is difference in term of the next internet browser as male respondents choose Google Chrome and female ones select Internet Explorer.

60.7% of respondents use Mozilla Firefox most often
Upon 10 people being asked, there are more than 6 persons using Mozilla Firefox most often. The next one is Google Chrome with 27.7%.

More than 50% of both male and female group use Mozilla Firefox
Not only male respondents but also female ones use Mozilla Firefox most often. The next is Google Chrome chosen by 29.9% male respondents and 21.5% female ones.

Both male and female group mostly use their current internet browser by Laptop and PC

When asking about intention of changing to use another browser, more than 45% of male and female group agrees. However, there is about 30% who are not sure about their intention.

Both male and female group want to use Google Chrome in the future
