Training Overview Training Structure Job-oriented The training portfolio is job-oriented. t provides the sets of modules (or training sequences) packaged to fulfill the needs of each job. These sequences have been designed with a special care for encompassing all the educational aspects of GSM cellular network operators. For each module, a complete description is given in the second part of the document. DeIta Training between Two ReIeases The distinction is made between: The modules proposed when B8 is implemented as a first release or when they are dedicated to new comers Delta training modules proposed when B8 is implemented as the next release. Customized Expert Training On top of the standard training, customized expert training is offered in the domain of radio network optimization. This training is customized according to customer needs and is under the responsibility of expert engineers. At the end of this catalog, you can find propositions of customized training. MuIti customer Sessions Multi customer sessions are organized throughout the year. You can find the schedule of these sessions on the extranet or on request to your Alcatel interface. Note: the sessions are confirmed when there are at least 4 participants. Training Ordering The sequences can be ordered globally as described in this document but they can also be built by combining elementary training modules. Note: when ordering several sequences for the same trainees, check there are no duplicated modules. One module can be part of several sequences. Training DeIivery Teaching Language All training courses can be delivered in English. Most of them can also be delivered in other languages. Refer to the training module description to check in what language the training module can be delivered. Training Documentation All training documentation given with the training course is only available in English. Training Location All training modules can be delivered either in Alcatel University premises or on customer site. Number of Participants As a general rule, for a theoretical training, the maximum number of participants is 12 and for a practical training, it is 8. For practical training, the number of participants depends on the amount of equipment. When the training is on customer site, check what equipment is needed. Training Prerequisites For each module, prerequisites are specified, please make sure the trainees fulfill them. Training PIatforms Alcatel University has its own training platform for practice. When practical training is delivered on site, it is the responsibility of the customer to provide access to the platforms. Customized Expert Training Customized Expert Training Specification Customized Expert Training On top of the standard training, customized expert training is offered in the domain of optimization. This training is customized according to customer needs and is under the responsibility of expert radio network engineers. Audience This customized expert training addresses experienced personnel in the domain of optimization. Training Contents The detailed contents and duration is agreed with the expert engineer who delivers the service. Note: it is recommended that the customer designate a representative to define the exact needs and content with the Alcatel expert in charge of the training. For example, you can organize expert training on the following subjects : BSS GSM parameters and algorithms (Handover, Power Control, multi-layer algorithms, traffic management features) Voice quality analysis (voice quality measurements, voice quality in the field, voice quality improvements areas, B8 voice improvement.) ndoor Radio Solutions (indoor network design methods and constraints, indoor parameters settings, different indoor solutions.) Training DeIivery Customized expert training requires around two months between the request and the delivery.
