2010 Red Cross Lifesaver Breakfast Charges Nashvilles Business Community to Lead in Making Middle Tennessee the Safest and Most Prepared Region in Our Nation
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 17, 2010) 500 of Nashvilles most influential business and community leaders will unite to attend the 2010 Red Cross Lifesaver Breakfast on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 7:30 a.m. 8:30 a.m. at Lipscomb Universitys Allen Arena. The breakfast celebrates the life-saving mission of the American Red Cross and the powerful impact of the Nashville Chapters Join the 10,000 campaignan initiative aimed at recruiting and training 10,000 volunteers, making Middle Tennessee the safest and most prepared region in the country for a disaster. More importantly this year, the Red Cross is rallying the Nashville community with a charge of corporate and individual involvement by working together and finding ways to prepare our community for when disasters strike. We have a unique opportunity to harness the strength and ingenuity of our citys most respected leaders and successful businesses, and empower them to work together in making our community safe and prepared, said Scott Turner, Nashville Red Cross Board Chairman and President of Ajax Turner Company, Inc. Disasters come without warning, as weve recently seen in Haiti and Chile. And when disasters strike in our own backyard, your Red Cross will be there, and we can all help. This years Lifesaver Breakfast is being chaired by Mr. Cal Turner, Jr., Chairman of the Cal Turner Family Foundation and retired Chairman and CEO of Dollar General Corporation, and features keynote speaker, Mr. Rick Dreiling, current Chairman and CEO of Dollar General Corporation. Also featured are the Honorable Mayor Karl Dean and Grammy award-winning artist and founding Tiffany Circle Member Amy Grant, who will be performing her song Welcome Home, a tribute to our military forces serving abroad.
