Application Designer Steps

Project: ATL_USG

Step1: Create Fields Fields are independent. In peoplesoft you can easily use any of the delivered field.

Go to File menu and click on new.

Give the label to your field. You can give any number of label to the field but default must be one. Choose your Field type and Length.

Save it and give the name if it is a new field. Dont change delivered field properties. In the below screenshot FROMDATE is default as shown in screen shot.

Set the field properties as per requirement as shown below. For the properties refer peoplesoft DOCs.

Step2 : After creating the multiple fields you have to build a record with combination of these fields. Same way click on new and select record

Click on the Insert menu and insert sub-record or fields according to the need. Sub-record is nothing but the group of fields which are used commonly in records.

After inserting records you have to set all four type of field attributes as per the screen shots. 1)

After writing people code here you insert people code in upgrade tab by Pressing F7.

Choose your record type as per your need. If you want to make SQL View then Click on the click to open SQL Editor.

Save it and give the Name.

Step3: Create new Project and Insert your records into the Project

Then save it and Give the name. After that whatever you make please insert it into the project.

Step 4 Create a new Page

Insert Tools as per the requirements

Design Page as per the requirement. In this screen shot we have inserted Sub page, Group box and Edit box and check box

Set group-box property.

Set tool property. Record name must be the name from which you want to fetch data.

Always use deferred processing. For deferred processing refer peoplesoft docs.

Insert sub page and set its properties. In this screenshot ATL_RUNCNT_ID is used for subpage.

Step 5 : Create Component

Insert page into the component and save it and give the name.

Go to the component properties.

This search record must be the record which you want to execute first. In this example we are displaying run control subpage first so we have put ATL_RUNCNT_ID as search record.

Structure is getting organized as per the definition.

Set Properties accordingly.

Step 6: Register Component

Click on next.

Enter menu name in which you want to set your component

Select Portal Select Folder where you want to define your component through which you run your process (SQR).Folder is just a path to define your component and in that you have to add your content reference from the application.

Content reference label will be your component name that will be displayed in the menu only. Sequence Number: - Sequence number sets components display priority. Product: Select the product where you want to specify your component. Here its AWFA for workforce Administration. Node Name: Local Node which is PSFT_HR.

Select the permission list from Select Button .Here we have selected Z_CUSTOM.

To view the component registration on application following are the steps. Main Menu >People Tools>Structure and Content> Select the folder where you want to specify your component. (Here, we have register in the Workforce Administration)>Select the content reference which you have given in the component registration.(ATL_USG_COMP_GBL_1)

Here you can see your component.

Then click on edit button so you can see the folder name and that will be same as you have given at the time of of component registration. So there is no need to register component from here.

From here you can limits is access.

Create a custom Menu

Select type as a standard.

Set the following properties for the menu.
