3. Aims & Objectives

Creating Awareness among Rural Tribes (CART) is a voluntary organization, non-political, non-profit, socio-cultural and economic development organization working for the overall development of Rural Tribes, Poor and needy people in all over the India.
Broad Objectives: The main objectives of the organization is to educate, help & bring awareness among the tribal community on various issues like health, environment, education, cultural, and social, economical problems, and providing trainings on knowledge & technology management, cultivation & agricultural guidance, arranging seminars, conferences, symposiums on various subjects. Aims & Objectives: To educate the people for adopting the good norms as a citizen and to work for spreading the ideas of secularism and nationality. To create awareness on environment pollution, protection of environment by tree plantations and avoiding deforest ration. To give various training programs to youths, women, and educate the people on importance of adult education. To create awareness on hygienic living, health and providing medical assistance to the patients suffering from chronic diseases. To create knowledge management centres in all the tribal areas having facilities such as library, reading room, computer centre, conference hall/meeting hall, class rooms, Audio/Video facilities and training centres etc.. To upkeep & preserve the traditional ornaments/wearing and tribal cultural related arts for educating future generation.

To provide necessary facilities, help, and shelters for old age people, orphans and disabled persons for their welfare. To conduct health related activities like meditation, yoga etc. To provide financial help to poor rural tribal students by distributing all kinds of stationary items, uniforms, bed sheets and blankets. To provide timely help to people effected by natural calamities such as floods, cyclone, earthquakes, rail/road accidents and any sabotage by anti-social elements assisting the government agencies in disaster management. To organize medical health checkup camps and blood donation camps. To create awareness on diseases like AIDS, Dengue, cancer, malaria, swine flu etc. To create awareness on effects of drugs and alcohol intake. To raise funds from all the sources through collection, donation, membership subscription and other means and incur expenditure for any activity which is directly or indirectly benefiting the rural tribes. To create awareness on social, economical, educational, unsociability, untauchability, and other problems through conducting cultural programs like dance, dramas, ballets, songs and music etc. To conduct educational and vocational training programs for children, youths, women, and mentally & physically disabled people. To train and provide latest technology methods, systems and energy resources for betterment of day to day life of the rural people. To provide scientific and social awareness on eradication of poverty, dowry system, caste system, child marriages, superstition, and on many other social evils. To provide sports, games and cultural related training and conduct competitions for overall participation of tribal youth, students in state and national level events. To organize training and awareness on various disasters like floods, cyclone, earthquakes, industrial accidents, etc. and their management. To conduct academic courses suitable to rural people and provide handful experience for creating self-employment. To provide free legal advice to rural tribes.

To coordinate with like minded individuals, organizations, institutions and government agencies who comes with organizing any programs useful to the rural people. To strengthen the individual and community resilience

RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. NAME OF THE SOCIETY :

Creating Awareness among Rural Tribes (CART)

2. LOCATION OF THE OFFICE : H.No. 8-7-98/87, DRDL Housing Colony, Hasthinapuram Central, Saroornagar (M) R.R Dist., Hyderabad -500 079. A.P. India. 3. (i) MEMBERSHIP (ii) Category of members : : OPEN TO ALL 1. Honorary Members 2. Member 3. Life Member 4. Corporate Member As per the attached Bye Law

(iii) Admission fee and the : annual subscription or monthly subscription 4.

(i) GENERAL BODY: Annual General Body will meet once in a year i.e. in the month of JUNE. (ii) FUNCTIONS: a. To pass the budget for the ensuring year and approve the expenditure statement of previous year. b. To approve the reports of the activities of the Society c. To elect the Executive Committee etc., d. To appoint Auditor 5. (i) Executive Committee: Shall consists of Seven(7) Members and out of them, the following office bearers shall be elected by EC Viz., President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer and the remaining persons are the executive committee members. (ii) The members of the Executive Committee (Governing Body) shall be duty bound to atleast the signatures of all the members of newly elected Executive Committee and to see that the signatures of the outgoing Governing body tally with the annual list as filed with the Registrar of Societies before 15 days of the succeeding month in which elections were held. 1. FUNCTIONS OF THE EXECUTIVE AND OFFICE BEARERS

a. PRESIDENT: He presides over all the meetings of the General Body and Executive Committee. He can cast his vote in the case of tie in decision making. He can supervise all branches of the society. b. VICE PRESIDENT: He shall assist the president in discharge of his functions. In the absence of the president he will perform the duty of the president as entrusted by the President. c. GENERAL SECRETARY: He is the Chief Executive Officer of the society and custodian of all records relating to the society and correspondent on behalf of the society. He has to take on record all minutes of the society. He would convene both the executive committee and General Body of the society with the permission of the President. He guides the Treasurer in preparing the budget and expenditure statement to place before the general body for its approval. d. JOINT SECRETARY: He has to do the work entrusted by the executive Committee. He has to assist the Secretary in discharging his duties. In the absence of the General Secretary, he can perform the duties of the Secretary. e. TREASURER: He is responsible for all financial transactions and funds of the society. He has to maintain accounts properly along with the vouchers. He has to prepare the accounts of the society jointly with the Secretary or President. f. OTHER OFFICE BEARERS: They are responsible persons to attend to such activities of the society which the executive committee entrusts to them. 2. QUORUM: Half of the total members for General body meeting and for Executive Committee meeting. 3. FUNDS: The funds of the society shall constitute from the donations given by the general public, Subscriptions from the members, fees or remuneration collected from the users of the services of the society. The society shall be eligible to borrow the funds from any Individual, Firm, company, Bank or any other financial institution for the purposes of meeting its financial requirements. The funds shall be spent only for the attainment of the objects of the Society and no portion there of shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly to any of the members through any means. The Investment of the funds Society /Institution shall be made in accordance with the provisions of Aec. 11(5) of the Income Tax Act.,1961.

4. BANK ACCOUNT: Bank Account or Accounts shall be opened in the name of the society and the same shall be operated by such of those office bearers as may be specified by the Board from time to time. 5. AMENDMENT: No amendment or alteration shall be made in the purpose of the society unless it is Voted by 2/3 of its members present at a special meeting convened for the purpose and confirmed by 2/3 of the members present at a second special meeting and without prior written approval of the Director of exemptions, specified for this purpose under IT Act 1961. Any additions, alterations and the modifications to the existing rules and regulations shall be made only with the prior approval of the Director of Income Tax ( Exemptions) having jurisdiction over the society. 6. WINDING UP: In case of the society has to be wound up the property and funds of the Society that remain after discharge of the liabilities, if any, shall be transferred or paid to some other institutions with similar aims and objectives and which is registered under section 12A of Income Tax Act, 1961. 7. ACCOUNTS & AUDIT The Accounts of the Society shall be maintained or caused to be maintained by the Executive Committee member of the society for recording all the inflows and out flows of the Society. Annual Accounts shall be audited by a Chartered Accountant before presenting the same before the general body for their adoption or approval. . 8. None of the Office / bearers of the society shall be allowed to use the funds or the assets of the society, or allowed to derive any benefit either directly or indirectly from the society as stipulated u/s 13(1)(c) of IT Act.
