PARENT TEACHER MEET AT VITS COLLEGEOF ENGINEERING- AN INTERACTIVE SESSION

Parent teacher meeting was conducted on 1-06-2013, by 11:00 am ended by 12:30 pm. The Principal Dr.B. Murali Krishna Garu, the academic Director Dr.K. Satyanaryana Garu preside over the session, and main points jotted thru the issues discussed were as follows: 1. Regular attendance by the ward to be taken care by the parent and relevant reason to be given by the parent as the SMS on being absent would be sent thru the office. 2. Frequent contacts with the HOD by the parent would give proper understanding of the ward towards the attendance, performance and behavior. 3. Parents are not supposed to entertain any mobiles with the student and so as the management. 4. Mobiles once seized will be given only at the end of the complete course 5. Extra study hours for nearly 4 weeks would be conducted and parents are ultimately responsible for the ward to be attended to the college while the study hours are being conducted 6. Examination pattern and allotment of the marks, the schedule has been cleared mentioned in the meeting. 7. Rules and the regulations of the VITS college of Engineering had been discussed for the excellence of academics and bringing all round development of the student. 8. Mentoring system is strictly made by the faculty and would be intimated to the parents thru SMS or thru the post, the one who had not received the SMS and the marks thru post are requested to give their proper mobile numbers along with the proper address for the proper communication. 9. HODs and the class teachers will respond for the complaints and the queries made by the parent. 10. Ultimate results would be acquired thru the proper communication between the parent and the institution and Principal sir insisted every parent to be cautious about the performance in the examination and in the behavior of the ward. Director Dr.K. Satyanaryana Garu had interacted with the parents and made an interactive session to solve the issues related to the students where Principal Sir answered queries so patiently and had good interactive session for the better improvement of the student. The forth said are the questions made by few of the first year parents: 1. Mech A Sunils father questioned about the decrease in his percentage comparatively from intermediate he used to get good percentage earlier. 2. ECE- Bhavani sister exclaimed that she had never undergone such type of meeting which is very beneficial to the student as she had just completed B.Tech in other institution and showed her gratitude for having such meeting. 3. Mech B Praveen Naidus parent expressed his view upon the less marks given in the internal where as he could get good marks in external and the reason behind getting less, marks and also wanted his son to participate in much of the presentations as he would explore in a much better way.

4. Mech B B. Ravi Kumars brother said that he is not ready to come to college giving various reasons for not having any enthusiasm towards education and one reason was that chemistry being read out and no proper explanation was given. 5. CSE _ Hiranmayis mother wants to emphasize on individual deliverance rather than group inorder to have her child explored thru her abilities. 6. ECE Manasa Jyothis mother wants the management to ponder strict rules on mobile using. Above stated queries were answered by the Principal sir, head of the department , subject teachers and the class teachers also personally shared about the marks, attendance, performance of the ward with the parents and at the end the session seemed fruitful as the important matters regarding the improvement of the student had been made.
