Served as Senior Architect of the network team for Credit Acceptance, an industry-leading financial institution. Supported a datacenter containing over 600 servers in a VMware environment, built on the Cisco UCS platform. Promoted in March 2011 and given supervisory responsibilities over all network team members. Regarded as a highly effective communicator and a leader in a large IT department. Accomplishments: Provided architect-level guidance on several projects to rebuild core business applications. Developed and executed roadmap to remove single points of failure in the data center, including implementing redundancy for core Nexus switches using Cisco vPC. Took a leading role in a comprehensive Disaster Recovery project. Completed successful recovery test at an offsite SunGard DR facility. Re-architected WAN environment to incorporate the SunGard DR facility into Credit Acceptances MPLS network, supporting the replication of EMC Data Domains for offsite backup purposes. Led project to build a DR datacenter for telephony and contact center systems. Built virtualized interconnect environment to support Oracle RAC on VMware. Managed project to refresh all Checkpoint firewalls, saving $35K in annual maintenance costs. Took leading role in the standardization and consolidation of the datacenter environment. Developed a capacity-planning process for network-related services. Managed change-control process, and worked closely with Security team to maintain compliances. Provided training and mentoring for junior network administrators.

Senior Network Engineer & Co-Owner 2006 - Present Formed corporation with business partner to manage the network and security needs of multiple businesses throughout Metro Detroit. Accomplishments: Consulted in a UAW-GM project to integrate the firewall, VPN, and infrastructure systems of the newly-formed VEBA organization into the GM network. Participated in the migration of over 50 servers and dozens of routers, switches and firewalls for large pharmaceutical company. Consulted on multiple post-migration infrastructure projects. Developed and implemented server migration plan for a major library system. Assisted in development of network infrastructure plan for multiple golf courses, including the installation of wireless, firewall/VPN, and server systems.
