Accommodation
Christchurch has many accommodation options for you to consider. When you first arrive we believe the best choice is to board with a homestay family and experience the warm hospitality and family environments our people are renowned for. We carefully select and supervise homestay providers. You will have your own fully furnished room and share evening meals with the host family. This gives you a chance to practise your English and quickly understand kiwi culture. Our Homestay services include: interviews with host families and full home inspection Police vetting of all host families airport pick-up a welcome pack upon arrival banking assistance on your first day at CPIT translators to assist communication follow up meetings with you and your homestay family to ensure everyone is happy and comfortable. You may choose to stay with your host family for the duration of your studies, move into a furnished hostel or set up an apartment with friends.

Recreation
Many arts, music and cultural festivals are held each year throughout our region and international artists regularly feature at the CBS Arena. Hagley Park is spectacular all year round and is the main venue for outdoor concerts, expos and events. Dance and live theatre is very popular in our city with stage shows to entertain and numerous studios teaching steps as varied as ballroom, salsa and hip hop. Specialist food and craft markets are held every weekend and diverse ethnicities are well represented in the citys restaurants and shopping districts. About CPIT
I didnt want to study something just to get a good title on my resume but to actually gain the skills, understand every aspect, and learn from the best about the one thing I am truly passionate about, the unique eld of Computer Networking. Exam Preparation
All applicants must sit a pre-entry test. Intensive IELTS Preparation A four week intensive exam preparation which includes reading, writing, speaking and listening. CPIT is the only certified IELTS testing centre in Christchurch. English for Academic Purposes and IELTS Preparation If you have completed 12 weeks at intermediate level you can study English for Academic Purposes part time as an elective in the afternoons for 12 weeks in terms 1 and 3. This course will help prepare you to take the IELTS examination. If you choose this course you will continue with Intensive English in the mornings. This course provides you with an introduction to academic study skills. If you are at Upper Intermediate level and have IELTS 5.5 or equivalent you can study English for Academic Purposes full time for 12 weeks in terms 2 and 4. This course helps prepare you for academic study in a tertiary environment. Cambridge Exam Courses CPIT specialises in Cambridge exam preparation. Cambridge Certicates are recognised around the world by thousands of employers, universities and government ministries as proof of your ability to use English. With our exible study options, you are assessed with internationally recognised processes and begin your study at a level relevant to your education. Step 1 - The Paperwork
A Send your completed International Application Form with all of the required documents. You can download a form from our website www.cpit.ac.nz/international We will assess your application. On acceptance we will send you an o er of place and a Statement of Fees for your programme tuition. Please note your offer of place can be used for your visa application. Contact us to conrm you accept the o er, make payment of your tuition fees and book your accommodation with our International Admissions ofce. To help us identify your payment and quickly send the documents you need for your Student Visa application, we recommend that you use the Custom House payment option. Other options include: Bank Transfer (Telegraphic transfer) - Please include your name and Student ID number in the payment information and note these payments will incur a $30 bank charge Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) Please send a Credit Card Payment Authorisation form Bank Cheque in NZ Dollars If you are in New Zealand you can pay by Cash or EFTPOS (Please make sure you understand our Refund Policy for international students before paying your fees.) Refund Policy
We understand that sometimes a change in your health or circumstances can a ect your plans to study with us. It is important that you understand CPITs Refund Policy and that it is based on a students Path of Study. This means the length of the programme as detailed in the statement of fees and accepted by payment and enrolment. The chart for calculating a refund is shown below.
