Common Dua Supplications

Before going to sleep:

Alhamdu lillaa hil ladhi ah yaana ba`da ma amatana wa ilaihin nushoor

All praise is for Allah who gave us life after having taken it from us and to Him is the Resurrection

Allahumma innaka qalaqta nafsee wa anta tawaffaaha, laka mamaatuha, in ahyaitaha fahfdhaha, wa in amattaha faghfir laha, allahumma innee as alukal aafiyah

O Allah, verily You have created my soul and You shall take it's life, to You belongs it's life and death. If You should keep my soul alive then protect it, and if should take its life then forgive it. O Allah, I ask You to grant me good health.

La ilaaha illal laahu wah da hu laa shareeka lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu, wa hua alaa kulli shayin qadeer, sub hanallah, walhamdul lillaah, wa laa ilaaha illallaahu wallaahu akbar wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa billaahil aliyyil adheem

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone without associate, to Him belongs Sovereignty and praise and He is over all things wholly capable. How perfect Allah is, and none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, Allah is the greatest and there is no power nor energy except Allah, The most High, The supreme.

A`oodhu bi kalimaatil laahit taam mati, min ghadhabi hi wa iqaabi hi, wa shar ri ibaadhi hi wa min hama zaatish shaiytaani wa anyyah dhuroon

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and punishment , and from the evil of His servants, and from the madness and appearance of devils.

Rabbigh feer li

O my Lord forgive me

Bismika rabbee wadha atu jambee wa bika arfa ahu, in amsakta nafsee fagh firlaha, wa in arsaltaha fah fadhha bi maa tah fadhu bi hi ibaa da tikas saaliheen

In Your name my Lord, I lie down and I in your name I rise, so if You should take my soul then have mercy upon it, and if you should return my soul , then protect it in the manner You do so with Your righteous servants.

Allaa humma qinee azaa ba ka yawma tab athu ibaadika

O Allah, save me from Your punishment on the day that You resurrect Your slaves.

Allahumma aslamtu nafsee ilaiyk, wa fawwadhtu amree ilaiyk, wa wajjahtu waj hiya ilaiyk, wa al ja tu zhahree ilaiyk, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaiyk, laa malja a wal la manja minka illa ilaiyk, aamantu bi kalimaa tika wa nabiy yikal ladhi arsal ta

O Allah! I submit my soul unto You , and I entrust my affair unto You , and I turn my face towards you , and I totally rely on you , in hope and fear of You . Verily there is no refuge nor safe haven from You except with You, I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in your Prophet whom You have sent.

Allahumma ghaaratin nujoomu wa hada atil ooyoonu wa anta hayyun qhayyoomu, yaa hayyu, yaa qayyoomu, a nim aiy nee wa ah di laiy li

O Allah ! the stars have sunk, and the eyes have rested, and You are the the Ever Living, the self Existing, O! Ever Living, Self Existing, give me calmness at night, and make my eyes go to sleep.

Allahu laa ilaaha illa huwal hay yul qayyoomu, la ta quzuhu sinatawn wa la nawm, lahu ma fis samaawaati wa maafil ardhi, man zal lazi yash fa oo inda hu lilla bi iznihi, ya lamu ma baiyna aiy dee him wa ma qal fa hum, wa laa uhee toona bi shaiyyim min il mi hi, illaa bi ma shaa a, wa si aa kur siyyu hus samaawaati wal ardha, wa la ya oo duhu hifzu hu ma wa huwal aliyyul adheem

Allah! There is no god but He, the Ever-Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His permission? He knows what happens to them in this world, and what will happen to them in the hereafter and they will never encompass anything of His knowledge except that which He wills. His throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Aama nar rasoolu bi ma oonzila ilaiyhi mir rabbi hi wal moo mi noona, kul lun aa mana bil laahi wa malaa i ka ti hi wa kutubi hi, laa nufar riqu baiyna aha dim mir rusu lihi, wa qaaloo samiy na wa ataa na ghuf ra naka rabba na wa ilaiy kal maseer, laa yu kalli ful laahu nafsan illaa wus a ha, la ha ma kasa bat wa alaiy ha mak tasa bat, rabbanaa laa tu aa qiz naa in nasee na aow aq taa na, rabbana wa la tah mil alaiyna isran kama hamal tahu alal ladheena min qab li na, rabbana wa laa tuhammil na maa laa taa qa ta lana bi hi, waa fu an naa, wagh fil la naa, war ham naa, an ta mawlaana fan sur naa alal qawm il kaa fi reen

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], 'We make no distinction between any of His messengers.' And they say, 'We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination.Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. 'Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.

After waking up from sleep:

Alhamdu lillaahil ladi aafini fee jasadi wa radda alayya roohi wa athina lee bi zikri hi

All praise is for Allah who restored to me my health and returned my soul and has allowed me to remember Him.

Allaa humma qinee azaa ba ka yawma tab athu ibaadika

O Allah, save me from Your punishment on the day that You resurrect Your slaves.

La ilaaha illal laahu wah da hu laa shareeka lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu, wa hua alaa kulli shayin qadeer, sub hanallah, walhamdul lillaah, wa laa ilaaha illallaahu wallaahu akbar wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa billaahil aliyyil adheem

After Meals:
Alhamdu lillaahil ladhi kafaani wa aa wa nee, wa ath amani wa saqaani, wal ladhi manna a layya fa afzala, alhamdu lillaahi a laa kulli haalin, allaahumma rabba kulli shaiyin, wa malaka kulli shaiyin, wa ilaaha kulli shaiyin, wa laka kulli shaiyin, a oozubika minan naar.

Praise be to Allah who sufficed me and sheltered me , and feeds me and gives me to drink , and conferred great favours upon and gave me preference and who granted me and gave generously. Praise be to Allah upon every state. O Allah Sustainer of every thing, and owner of every thing and God of every thing, and for you everything, and owner of every thing, and for You everything, and I seek refuge in you from the fire.

Any time of day or night:

Alhamdu lillaahil ladhi kafaani wa aa wa nee, wa ath amani wa saqaani, wal ladhi manna a layya fa afzala, alhamdu lillaahi a laa kulli haalin, allaahumma rabba kulli shaiyin, wa malaka kulli shaiyin, wa ilaaha kulli shaiyin, wa laka kulli shaiyin, a oozubika minan naar.

Praise be to Allah who sufficed me and sheltered me , and feeds me and gives me to drink , and conferred great favours upon and gave me preference and who granted me and gave generously. Praise be to Allah upon every state. O Allah Sustainer of every thing, and owner of every thing and God of every thing, and for you everything, and owner of every thing, and for You everything, and I seek refuge in you from the fire.

Allahumma rabbas samaa waatis sab ee, wa rabbal ardhi, wa rabbul ar shil a dheemi, rabbana wa rabba kulli shaiyin, wa munzilat tawraati wa injeeli wal furqaan, faali qal habbi wan nawaa, a oo zu bika min shar ri kul li shaiyin anta aa qhidhu bi naa siya ti hi, antal awwalu fa laiysa qab laka shaiyyun, wa an tal aa qhiru fa laiysa ba daka shaiyyun, wa an taz zaahiru fa laiysa faw qaka shaiyyun, wa antal baatinu fa laiysa doonaka shaiyyun, iq zee an nid deeni, wa agh ni ni mi nal faqr

O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and the exalted throne, our Lord and Lord of all things, Splitter of the seed and the date stone, Revealer of the Towraah, the Injeel and the Furqaan, I take refuge in you from the evil of all things You shall seize by the forelock. O Allah, You are The First so there is nothing before You and You are the last , so there is nothing after You. You are Ath-Thaahir so there is nothing above You and You are Al-Baatin so there is nothing closer than You. Settle my debt for me and spare me from poverty.

For protection:
Allahumma rabbana aa tina fid dun yaa ha sa na taown wa fil aa qhira ti hasa na taown wa qinaa adhaa ban naar

Oh Allah! Give us good in this world, and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of the fire.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika minal aj zee wal ka sa lee, wal ju bu ni wal ha ra mee wal buq li, wa a oozu bika min hayaa ti wal ma maa ti

Oh Allah! Indeed I seek refuge in You from weakness and laziness, and cowardice and senility and miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave and from the trials and tribulations of life and death.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika min munka raatil aqlaa qi, wal aa maa li, wal ah waa ee

O Allah! Indeed I seek refuge in You from a detestable conduct and from disliked deeds and desires.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika min jah dil ba laa ee, wa dar kish sha qaa ee, wa soo il qha dhaa ee, wa shamaa ta til aa daa ee

O Allah! Indeed I seek refuge in You from severe trials and hardships, being overtaken by misfortune, a bad fate and the rejoicing of enemies.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika minal bara si, wal juoo ni, wal juzaa mi, wa min saiy yil aq saa mi

O Allah! Indeed I seek refuge in You from leucoderma, and madness, and leprosy, and all bad diseases.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika min il mil laa yan fa oo, wa min qal bil laa yaqh sha oo, wa min naf sil laa tash ba oo, wa min daa wa til laa yus ta jaa bu lahaa

O Allah! Indeed I seek refuge in You from knowledge that is not beneficial, and from a heart that does not fear (You), and from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a prayer that is not answered.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika min zawaali niy ma tika, tah wee li aa fi ya tika, wa fu jaa a ti niq ma tika, wa ja mee ee saqa tika

O Allah! Indeed I seek refuge in You from the decline of Your blessings, the changing of the state of well-being bestowed by You, the sudden onset of Your punishment and from all that displeases You.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika min shar ri samee, wa min shar ri ba sa ree, wa min shar ri li saa nee, wa min shar ri qal bee, wa min shar ri maniy yee

O Allah! Indeed I seek refuge in You from the evil of my hearing, and from the evil of my sight, and from the evil of my tongue, and from the evil of my heart, and from the evil of my semen.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika minal aj zee, wal ka sa li, wal ju bu ni, wa buq li, wal ha ra mi, wal qas wa ti, wal ghaf la ti, wal aiy la ti, waz zilla ti, wal mas ka na ti, wa a oozu bi ka minal faq ri, wal kuf ri, wal fu soo qi, wash shi qaa qi, wan nifaa qi, was sum a ti, war ri yaa ee, wa a oozu bi ka minas sam ma mi, wal ba ka mi, wal junoo ni, wal juzaa mi, wal ba ra si, wa saiy il as qaam

O Allah Indeed I seek refuge in You from inaction, laziness, cowardice, miserliness, extreme old age, hardness of heart, heedlessness, humiliation, destitution and I seek refuge in you from poverty, disbelief, disobedience, opposition, hypocrisy, a bad reputation and showing off and I seek refuge in You from deafness, dumbness, insanity, leprosy, leucoderma, and from all bad diseases.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika minal joo ee, fa inna hu bee sadh dhajee oo, wa a oozu bika minal qi yaa na ti, fa inna ha bee sa til bi taa nah

O Allah! Indeed I seek refuge in You from hunger because it is the worst companion, and I seek refuge in You from treachery because it is the worst confidante.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika minal faq ri, wal qil la ti, waz zil la ti, wa a oozu bi ka min an az li ma aowu uz lam

O Allah! I seek refuge in You from poverty, any deficiency and humiliation and I seek refuge in You that I may wrong anyone or that I may be wronged.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika minat ta rad dee, wal had mee, wal gha ra qi, wal ha ree qi, wa a oozu bika aiyin ya ta qabba ta nee yash shaiy taa nu in dal maooti wa a oozu bika an amoota fee sa bee li ka moodh bir aoon wa a oozu bika an amoo ta la dee ghaa

O Allah! Indeed I seek refuge in You from death caused by falling from a building or being buried under its debris, from death by drowning, or from burning to death, and I seek refuge in You that Satan should confound me near death and that I should die in your way while turning my back (fleeing); and I seek refuge in You that I should die from the bite of a enormous animal.

Allahumma in naa naj a loo ka fee nu hoo ri him wa na oozu bika min shu roo ri him

O Allah! Indeed We place You before them (our enemies) and we take refuge in You from their evil.

Allahumma rab bas sa maa waa ti wa rabbal ar dheena wa rabbana wa rabba kulli shaiyyin faa li qal habbi wan nawaa, wa munzilat tawraati wa injeeli wal qur aani, a oozu bika min shar ri an ta aa qi zun naa si ya ti, antal awwalu fa laiysa qab laka shaiyyun, wa an tal aa qhiru fa laiysa ba daka shaiyyun, wa an taz zaahiru fa laiysa faw qaka shaiyyun, wa antal baatinu fa laiysa doonaka shaiyyun, iq zee an nid deena, wa agh ni ni mi nal faqr

O Allah! Lord of the heavens and the earths, our Lord and the Lord of all things, Splitter of the seed and date stone, Revealer of the Torah, the Injeel and the Quran, I seek refuge in You from the evil of all things You have seized by the forelock. O Allah! You are the First so there is nothing before You, and You are the Last so there is nothing after You. You are the Manifest so there is nothing above You, and You are the Hidden so there is nothing closer than You. Settle my debt for me and spare me from poverty.

Allahumma in nee a oo zu bika min yawmis soo ee, wa min laiy la tis soo ee, wa min saa atis soo ee, wa min saa hi bis soo ee, wa min jaa ris soo ee fee daaril mu qa ma

O Allah! Indeed I seek refuge in You from an evil day, an evil night, an evil moment, an evil companion and from an evil neighbor in the place of residence.

For seeking knowledge:

Rab bish rah lee sad ree wa yas sir lee am ree wah lool ooq da tan mil lisaa ni yaf qa hoo qaw lee

O my Lord! Expand for me my breast [with assurance] and ease for me my task and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech.

Rab bi zid nee il maa

O my Lord! Increase my knowledge.

Allahumma faq qih nee fid deen

O Allah! Grant me understanding of Deen.

Allahumma innee as a lu ka il man naafi an, wa ama lan muta qabba lan, wa riz qan tayyi ban

O Allah! I ask you for beneficial knowledge, acceptable deeds and pure provision.

Allahumman fa ana bi maa allam tanaa, wa allam naa maa yan fa oona, wa zid naa ilmaa

O Allah! benefit us through what you teach us, and teach us what is beneficial for us, and increase us in knowledge.

Allahumma in nee a oozu bika min ilmil laa yan fa oo, wa min qal bil laa yaqh sha oo, wa min naf sil laa tash ba oo, wa min da watil laa yus ta jaa bu la ha

O Allah! I seek Your protection from knowledge that is not beneficial, and from a heart that does not fear, and from a soul that is not satiated and from a prayer that is not answered.

MAQBOOL DUA EN - to rename suitably:

Sub haa nal laahi, wal ham du lillaa hi, wa laa ilaaha illal laahu, wal la hu ak bar

Glorified is Allah and all praise is for Allah and there is no deity except Allah and Allah is the Greatest.

Laa ilaaha illaa an ta sub haa na ka, in nee kun tu minaz zaali meen

There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed I have been of the wrongdoers.

Yaa ba dee us sama waa ti, yaa hayyu, yaa qayyoomu, in nee as a lu ka

O Originator of the heavens, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer of all existence, indeed I ask You.

Allahumma an ta qalaq ta nee, wa an ta tah di nee, wa an ta tuth ee mu nee, wa an ta tas qee nee, wa an ta tu mee tu nee, wa an ta tuh yee ni nee

O Allah, You have created me and You guide me and You feed me and You give me to drink and You will cause me to die and You grant me life.

Allahumma in nee as a looka bi an nee ash ha du ka anna ka an tal laahu, laa ilaaha illa an tal aha dus sama dul lazi lam ya lid wa lam yoo lad wa lam ya kul lahu ku fu wan ahad

Oh Allah, indeed I ask You, because I bear witness that indeed You are Allah, there is no deity except You, the One, the Eternal Refuge, the One Who neither gives birth and nor is He born and there is to Him no equivalent.

Yaa hayyu, yaa qayyoomu, bi rah mati ka as ta ghees

O Ever-Living, O Sustainer of all existence! I seek help with Your Mercy.

Allahumma in nee as alu ka bi anna la kal ham du laa ilaaha illaa antal mannaa nu, ba dee us samaa waati wal ardhi, yaa zal ja laa li wal ik raami, yaa huyyu, yaa qayyoom

O Allah, indeed I ask You because for You is all praise, there is no deity except You, the Benefactor, the Originator of the Heavens and the earth. O Possessor of might and honor, O Ever-living, O Sustainer of all.

Laa ilaaha illal laahul azeemul haleemu, laa ilaaha illal laahu, rabbul ar shil azeemi, laa ilaaha illal laahu rabbus samaa waati, wa rabbul ardhi, wa rabbul arshil azeem

There is no deity except Allah, the Most Grand, the Ever-Forbearing. There is no deity except Allah, Lord of the magnificent throne. There is no deity except Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth and Lord of the noble throne.

A oozu bi ka li maa til laahit taammaati min sharri maa qalaq

I seek refuge in Allah by His complete words from the evils of the creation.

Laa ilaaha illal laahu wah da hu, laa sha ree ka la hu, la hul mul ku, wa la hul ham du, wa huwa a laa kulli shaiyyin qa deeru, al ham du lil laahi, wa sub haanal laahi, wa laa ilaaha illal laahu, wallaahu ak baru, wa laa haw la wa laa quwwa ta illaa billaah

There is no deity except Allah alone, no partner has he. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him is due all praise and He is over all things Powerful. All praise is for Allah and Glorified is Allah and there is no deity except Allah and Allah is the Greatest and there is no power or might except with Allah.

Yaa wa doo du, yaa zal arshil majeedi, yaa fa aalul lima yureedu, as alu ka bi izzi kal laze laa yu raamu wa bi mul ki kal laze laa yu dhaamu wa bi noo ri kal laze ma laa arkaa nal arshi ka an tak fi ya nee sharra kazaa wa kazaa yaa mugheethu aghithnee, yaa mugheethu aghithnee, yaa mugheethu aghithnee

O Ever-Loving, O Owner of the glorious Throne, O Doer of whatsoever You desire, I ask You by Your Honor that is unopposed and by Your Dominion that cannot be interfered in, and by Your Light that has filled up the four posts of Your Throne, that You suffice me form the evil of so and so, O Reliever! Relieve me, O Reliever! Relieve me, O Reliever! Relieve me.

Laa ilaaha illal laahul haleemul kareemu, sub haa nal laahi, wa taba rakal laahu, rabbul ar shil azeemi, wal hamdu lil laahi rabbil aa la meen

There is no deity except Allah, the Ever Forbearing, the Generous One, Glorified is Allah and Blessed is Allah, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne and all praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds.

Allahumma innee a oozu bika minal ju bu ni, wa a oozu bika minal buq li, wa a oozu bika min an uradda ilaa ar zalil u mu ri, wa a oozu bika min fit na tid dun ya, wa azaabil qabr

O Allah! Indeed I seek Your Protection from cowardice, and Your Protection from miserliness, and from decript old age, and I seek Your Protection from the trials of this world, and the punishment in the grave.

When going out:

Allahumma innee a oozu bika an adhilla ao udhalla, ao azilla ao uzalla, ao adhlima ao udhlama, ao ajhala ao yujhala

O Allah! I seek refuge in You lest I go astray or am misguided, or I slip or am made to slip, or I do wrong (to anyone) or being wronged (by anyone), or I behave ignorantly (to anyone) or someone behaves ignorantly towards me.

Bis mil laahi ta wak kal tu a lal laahi laa haw la wa laa quw wa ta illaa bil laah

In the Name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah and there is no power or authority, except Allah.

When you are leaving on a journey:

As taoo di u kumul laahil ladhi laa ta dhee oo wa daa ee oo hu

I entrust you (or) all of you to Allah with Whom all entrusted possession are safe or are not wasted.

Sub haa naka innee qad dhalamtu naf see, fagh fir lee, fa inna hu laa yagh firuz zunooba illaa antha

Glory be to You, indeed I have wronged myself, forgive me, for surely there is none who may forgive sins but You.

When someone is leaving on a journey:

As taoo di u laahi dee na ka, wa a maa na ta ka, wa qawaa teemu ama lika

I entrust your religion and your possessions and your last deed to Allah.

When stopping at a station:

Rabbi an zil nee mun zalam mubaa rakan, wa an ta qai rul mun zi leen

My Lord! Let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us].

When beginning to ride:

Subhaa nal ladhi saqqa ra la na haa dha wa ma kunna la hu muq ri nee na wa innaa ilaa rabbinaa la mun qa li boon

Allah is pure, He has given control and without His power we would not have any control without doubt we are to return to him.

When entering a city or locality:

Rabbi ad qil nee mud qa la sid qin, wa aqrajni muqra ja sid qin, waj al lee mil la dun ka sul taa nan nasee ra

My Lord! Cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Your self a supporting authority.

When beginning the return journey:

Alla hu ak baru, alla hu ak baru, alla hu ak baru, subhaa nal ladhi saqqa ra la na haa dha wa ma kunna la hu muq ri nee na wa innaa ilaa rabbinaa la mun qa li boon, allahumma innaa nas a lu ka fee safa rina haazal barra wat taqwa, wa minal ama li maa tardhaa, allahumma hawwin alaiyna safarana, wa at wi annaa boo da hu, allahumma antas saabibu hu fis safri wal qaleefa tu fil ahli, allahumma innee a oozu bika min waa thaa is safari wa ka aabatil manzari wa soo il mun qalabi fil maali wa ahli aa ee boona, taa i boona, aa bi doona, li rabbina haamidoon

Allah is the Most Great. Allah is the Most Great. Allah is the Most Great. Glory is to Him Who has provided this for us though we could never have had it by our efforts. Surely, unto our Lord we are returning. O Allah, we ask You on this our journey for goodness and piety, and for works that are pleasing to You . O Allah , lighten this journey for us and make its distance easy for us . O Allah, You are our Companion on the road and the One in Whose care we leave our family . O Allah , I seek refuge in You from this journey's hardships, and from the wicked sights in store and from finding our family and property in misfortune upon returning.

Seeking blessings for the dead person:

Allaahum maghfir la hu, war ham hu, wa aa fi hi, waa fu an hu, wa ak rim nu zu la hu, wa wassiyy mad qa la hu, wagh sil hu bil maa i, wath thalji, wal baradi, wa naqqi hi minal qataayaa ka ma naq qaitath thoubal ab yadha minad dana si, wa abdil hu daaran qhairam min daari hi, wa ahlan qhairam min ahli hi, wa azwaajan qhairam min zawjihi, wa ad qhilhul jannata, wa a iz hu min azaabil qabri, wa min azaabin naar

O Allah! Forgive him (the deceased) and have mercy upon him. And give him peace and pardon him, and grant him an honorable reception. And expand his entry point, and cleanse him with water, snow and hail and purify him of sin, as a white robe is purified of filth. And exchange his home for a better home, and his family for a better family, and his spouse for a better spouse. And admit him into paradise, and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the torment of the Fire.
