The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) is a national company that specializes in on-site staff development. We are committed to providing outstanding training programs in the expanded Orton-Gillingham methodology of reading instruction. We offer 18-hour and 30-hour in-service programs for special education teachers, general education teachers, and para-professionals. IMSE has developed a 6-hour parent training that can be incorporated into the Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham Program for your school or district. IMSE programs are designed to be incorporated into an existing curriculum. We have adapted Orton-Gillingham for use in the general classroom. Our wish is to reach at risk children during their early elementary years in the general classroom, and thereby decrease the number of referrals for special education. Our goal is to provide multi-sensory, phonetic, and structured methods to be used as additional tools in the classroom. In addition, IMSE also offers outstanding training for special educators and reading teachers, for use with small groups and one-on-one instruction.
