As the facilitator of this lesson, what did you do well?

By incorporating the auditory and visual aides I allowed the students to have different perspectives on the lesson. This also kept the students actively involved in the lesson.

The use of visual and hands on activities enhanced the lesson plan. Cooperative learning was used as well.

As the facilitator of this lesson, what could you do differently to move the learning forward?

It is not a lot I can see that would move the learning forward. I believe this lesson plan was planned out effectively. The use of cooperative groups could help the students discuss and work together on the lesson.

I believe the use of worksheets or a visual aide such as a smart board would both be benefical in this lesson.

Use of visual aides in the form of papers

Reflection Summary

Video Reflection Chart EDU/310 Version 4

Once this perspective teacher reviewed the video and text for this assignment she confirmed her belief that reflection should pay a significant role in the classroom. In essence when a teacher uses reflection, she is looking back at the information that was taught and determining whether the decisions made were beneficial to the lesson (Jacobsen, Eggen, & Kauchak, 2009). Using reflection helps the teacher improve upon her lesson plans and reflection can be done in many ways. Reflection is a tool teachers should use daily in the classroom; it can only lead to being an excellent teacher. After each lesson she or he has taught the teacher needs to reflect upon the lesson and ask herself questions such as were my students engaged, did I stay on topic, did I use enough or the proper technology? These are just a few examples of what kinds of questions we as teachers need to reflect upon. After reviewing the lesson plan on birds I dont see where any improvement can or really needs to be made. I think the teacher effectively incorporated all of the learning styles and kept the students engaged in the learning process. After reviewing the lesson plan on fractions I feel the learning styles were used effectively. I do not feel enough examples were used nor do I see any use of an idividual assignment was used. When completing math lessons the teacher needs to see how each student is comprehending the lesson. Cooperative learning in math class was a great idea, one I personally hadnt thought of before. .
