Role: Cub Scout Leader - Scouting Ireland What's Involved? Leaders will work with Cub Scouts who are 8-11 year olds. *Working with a team of leaders, planning and preparing for weekly meetings and supplementary activities, outings and camps. * To operate and carry out those plans at the meeting and /or activity. *As a Leader, one volunteers to work with a specific section and age range. *Training and Programme Material Provided *Volunteers are especially needed in Drimnagh Where: Drimnagh, Dublin 12 When: 2 hours a week in the evening, 1 year commitment Role: Open House Volunteers 4th-6th October - Irish Architecture Foundation What's Involved? Open House this year takes place from the 4th-6th October. OVer 100 buildings in Dublin will open their doors to the public. Volunteers are needed to meet and greet the public who will be going on free architecture tours. Managing queues and making sure no one strays off into private areas of buildings. It is a fun way to meet people and to immerse yourself in the architecture of Dublin. Where: Open House will be opening buildings throughout Co. Dublin When: 4th-6th October Role: 1 to1 volunteer - Cara Cheshire House What's Involved? The volunteer will support 1 service user to do an evening or weekend activity on a 1 to 1 basis. The service user is looking for a companion to attend an event or class of her choosing once a week. The ideal candidate will build a friendship with the service user and make plans for an outing each week. Where: Cara Cheshire House Phoenix Park Chapelizod, Dublin 20 When: 2 hours a week for three months Role: Volunteer Office Administrator Crumlin - Le Cheile Mentoring Project What's Involved: providing varied general office administration support * Processing volunteer expenses * event organisation * correspondence * Researching activities, courses and other information as required * Assisting with recruitment and training Where: 1 role in each of these projects - Le Cheile Dublin North, Main Street, Ballymun. Le Cheile Dublin South Clonard Rd, Crumlin. When: 8 hours a week for one year Role: Befriender with an interest in football -STEP What's Involved: A volunteer is needed to work with a young man who has a mild intellectual disability. We require a male in his late twenties early thirties who has an interest in football. The volunteer would be required to meet with the individual in the Pearse street vicinity twice a month to engage in an activity of their choice such as a game of pool/watch a match/go for a coffee.Where: Pearse Street, Dublin 2 When: 2 hours a week for six months Role: Fundraising and Communications Internship - Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders What's Involved: This will be an all-round office role, providing assistance to the Fundraising Manager, Communications Manager and Head of Office in everyday tasks, as well as completing specific projects. For anyone interested in overseas aid, this internship is an opportunity to gain experience of the workings of an international NGO, to develop practical skills relevant to the sector, and to support MSF's medical humanitarian work in 70 countries around the world.
