PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Awakening a Love for Christ in the Heart of Richmond July 28, 2013 The Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time 10:55 a.m.
Please fill out the communication card and place it in the offering plate during the offertory. Please stand for these parts of the service.
Our souls wait for the Lord. We wait for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning. There is no darkness with you, O Lord. O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is a steadfast love, and with the Lord is plenteous redemption. There is no darkness with you, O Lord. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. There is no darkness with you, O Lord.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION Merciful and mighty God, You have called us to be your people and claimed us for the service of Jesus Christ. We confess that we have not lived up to our calling. We have been timid and frightened disciples, forgetful of your powerful presence and the strength of your Spirit among us. Forgive us. As you have chosen us and claimed us in our baptism, strengthen us anew to choose Christs way in the world. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. ASSURANCE OF PARDON ALLELUIA (All sing the Alleluia after the organ introduction.) Celtic
Alleluia, music by Fintan OCarroll and Christopher Walker, 1985 by G.I.A. Publications, Inc.
Acquaint now thyself with Him and be at peace; thereby good shall come unto thee. Exalt the Lord our God and worship at His holy hill, for the Lord our God is holy. O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Fear before Him all the earth. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name. Bring an offering, and come unto His courts. Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the most high God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings? He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.
