The biggest exam, IIT JEE Main 2013 for IIT aspirants is just 45 days away! With the D-Day approaching fast for all XII students starting with the board exams followed by the JEE (Main) it is high anxiety time for all the students. The new pattern for JEE (Main) stresses on good grades in Class XII which makes the task seem more insurmountable. With a little time management and study scheduling, good grades in class XII and a good rank in the JEE (Main) is very much achievable. The trick is to schedule last minute preparations in a slightly different manner than usual. Here by we just try to put some best practice in brief. JEE Main Preparation Tips: Class XII grades are going to play vital role, give your best shot in XII boards exam. First of all DONOT use too many reference books. Start with the NCERT/Class XII textbooks and the notes from the centre you have undergone coaching from. Index topics as per priority/ weightage in the exams (both class XII & JEE (Main) Start with the basics of those topics and be very clear on them. You can build on the answers if your basics are clear and strong. DONOT start new topics that you havent done before. Revise only those that you have done thoroughly and are sure of. Practice from question banks which deal with the previous years papers and also have solutions in them. Here too, a set of the last three years should do the trick. A major point to remember is that JEE (Main) has been designed to test your grasping of the topics and the way you can apply them to the given set of problems. Keeping the above point in mind, practice all those topics thoroughly such that your concepts are very clear. It is not imperative that one has to be completely thorough with all the topics given in the syllabus. If you can score 60 to 70% consistently in your practice sessions, you have a very good chance of cracking the exam well and scoring a good rank. Do not waste time on trying to solve a problem or question. Look for the solution in the answer booklet, understand and move on to the next one since time is of essence here. Keep your cool and your confidence. Do not compare with others on what they have done and what you have not. It will cause anxiety and not help at all. Plan your mock tests to match with exam time, (i.e. try to give mock exams in slot of 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and again from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.) so that at D-day you feel absolutely at ease. People say we must avoid late night studies, but it varies individual to individuals, so choose whichever suits you better. Revision is the Key; please revise well all important topics from class XI in stipulated time. Just to summarize revise all essential topics, manage your time effectively and take mock tests, discipline is the key stick to your planned schedule.
