Cable supported fabric (tent) structures as shown on drawings and specified herein. Miscellaneous materials related to the Work including supporting cables, tubular steel frames, anchoring devices and fittings as indicated on Drawings and as specified herein.

REFERENCES: A. SASO SAUDI ARABIAN STANDARDS ORGANIZATION SASO 645/1994 - Requirements for fire retardant tent fabrics.

SUBMITTALS A. Submit the following for Engineers review and approval: 1. 2. Design Analysis and Calculations for the tent structure, supporting cables and their connections as well as additional loads considered. Detailed shop drawings for the tent structure including construction details for cable connectors and fittings, supporting foot, high points, high-point cover, corner supports as well as bracing and anchoring points. Assembly, erection, and installation drawings and manuals. Samples: Submit samples of the following for Engineer's review and approval: a. b. c. Membrane: Submit samples 600 x 600 mm to illustrate the quality, color, and texture of membrane. Supporting Cables: Submit sample 600 mm long for the different types of cables used. Fittings and Anchoring Devices: Submit samples showing the different devices required for the installation and as shown on the detailed shop drawings.

Quality Control Certificates and Reports. Test reports including certified mill test reports as required.

A.

Tests: Submit tests, reports and certificates related to the quality of materials, fabrication and finished products as specified herein (Parts 2 and 3 of this Section) for the Engineers review and approval. Damage: A continuing inspection shall be made on storing, delivery, and handling to verify that products are not being damaged.

DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. Delivery, storage, and handling shall be in strict accordance with the requirements and recommendations of tent structure manufacturer.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 CABLE SUPPORTED TENT STRUCTURE A. General: 1. Design of Tent Structure: a. Design Responsibility: Tent structure supplier shall provide complete design of tent structure as well as the related works in accordance with the requirements specified herein. Design Approval: Design, analysis, calculations and proposed design deviation from requirements specified herein shall be reviewed and approved by the Engineer prior to the start of Work.

2. 3. 2.2 MATERIALS A.

Size, Pattern and Configuration of Tent Structure: As indicated on Drawings. Color: As indicated on Drawings or if not indicated as selected and approved by the Engineer.

Membranes: 1. PVC coated woven polyester fabric, retardency M2, weather-proof, UVresistant, and self-cleaning properties. Surface weight shall be minimum 1400 g/m2 and tensile strength of 140 kN/m with a 10 % translucency (white). Thickness of membrane shall be as recommended by manufacturer. Fabric shall have high gloss finish with pattern and color as approved by the Engineer. High-quality Teflon (PTFE) glass fiber membrane, PTFE-coated on both sides, weatherproof, UV resistant and self-cleaning properties. Thickness of membrane shall be as recommended by manufacturer. Size, shape, pattern and color shall be as approved by the Engineer. Steel Column, Poles and Cables: 1. Steel Column Material: Galvanized steel column comply with requirements

of ASTM A53, Grade B galvanized to ASTM A525, Class G90. 2. 3. 4. C. Steel Poles Material: Galvanized structural steel poles conform to ASTM A36 or A529 galvanized to ASTM A525, Class G90. Cables Material: Galvanized steel wire cables of a minimum tensile strength 1770 N/mm2. Size and Number of Column, Poles and Cables: As recommended by the manufacturer of tent structure.

Steel Structure: Shall be galvanized tubular steel frames of sizes suitable to support tent structures. Frames shall have powder-coated finish; minimum 80 micron thick; color as selected by the Engineer. Fittings: 1. Hot dip galvanized steel fittings, manufacturer's standard products and shall be provided as recommended by the manufacturer of tent structure.

PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION A. B. 3.2 Install tent structure under the directions of the manufacturer and in accordance with the approved shop drawings. Set tent structure into the position assigned on the shop drawings, aligned and securely anchored.

DEFECTIVE WORK A. Replace defected materials that do not conform to the requirements of this Section and which cannot be satisfactorily repaired, with new materials meeting the requirements of this Section and approved by the Engineer.

3.3

CLEANING AND PROTECTION A. Maintain the Work clean throughout the construction period. Cleaning methods shall be in accordance with the tent structure Manufacturer and subject to the review and approval of the Engineer. Protect work during construction period. Repair or replace damaged areas as directed by the Engineer. END OF SECTION
