The IELTS speaking test is in 3 parts:

Interaction

Part 1 You will have the chance to speak on familiar


topics. The examiner will ask you fairly simple
Introduction and questions about familiar topics, which you will be
Interview comfortable with. Here you can demonstrate
your basic fluency.
4-5 minutes

Part 2 You will talk non stop for 1-2 minutes on a topic
chosen by the IELTS examiner. You have 1 minute
Short Talk to prepare (taking notes is possible), the topics
chosen will be familiar to you e.g. about a
3-4 minutes famous person.

Part 3 Linked to the topic before (famous person) you


will be asked more questions and your answers
Two-way discussion should be longer than in Part 1.
