Don't you think that you need to know more about Islam?
At least about ALL THE FUNDAMENTAL things of the Religion
that you follow?
Allah says in the Glorious Qur'an that Shirk is the worst crime
which He shall never forgive.
Therefore, it is extremely necessary for every Muslim to know
what is shirk
so that he may guard against it and remain steadfast upon
Tauheed.
The best way to know the Tauheed is to know and understand
the Glorious Qur'an.
The Best way to know the Sunnah is to read and gain the
knowledge of the Ahadiths. If you know the Sunnah, you will be
able to save yourself from the Biddah(innovations). So why
don’t you purchase the books of Ahadiths and read them?
We can and must have other teachers (or peers as you call
them) who could teach us the Qur’an and the Hadith better. It
would make our studies easier. But, they, as normal human
beings, are bound to make mistakes at some place. So, what you
have to do is , whenever you get a knowledge from anywhere,
check it up with the text of the Qur’an and the Ahadith. Now a
days it is very easy. All you have to do is to enter a word
concerning a matter in the concerned software and you will get
the Aayats or ahadiths concerning it , sorted out. It is so easy.
I also agree that they have more power in their duaa. Rather their
duaas are more readily acceptable to Allah. It is because they
are more pious and Allah-fearing. But, dua can be done only by a
living person and not someone who is dead.
Why? Because it is a form of worship, a good deed.
And all the forms of worship at any place and time, should be for
Allah alone, without associating any partners with Him.
Note that when the Prophet was alive in this world, the
Companions used to ask him to invoke Allah for rain. But, after
his physical death, the Companions no longer asked him to
invoke Allah for rain, they did not go to his grave to ask him to
make dua for them. They rather, asked his uncle Ibn Abbas
(Radiyallahu anhu) to do so.
You have said the truth . Truly, today, different Muslims have
different approach and style of prayer or beliefs.
But tell me
“Did our Prophet teach different stylea and approach of prayer
and beliefs to different Muslims?
Did he teach different ways of prayer and fasting and Hajj, etc, to
different people?
May Allah guide us on the straight path, the path of the righteous.
Aamin.
