BCIS student population ups by 54 %

This school year showed a 54 percent increase in student population. There are now 173 pupils compared to last years 115. This year has also seen the completion of the Elementary levels with the opening of Grade VI. The number of pupils in the school has been steadily growing since its opening: 43 (Pre-Elementary) in 2008; 65 (Pre-Elementary to Grade III) in 2009; 97 (Pre-Elementary to Grade IV)) in 2010; and 115 (Pre-Elementary to Grade V) in 2011. This growth shows that Blessed Children Integrated School (BCIS) is beginning to be recognized by the community for its good service and THE SCHOOL WITH A PURPOSE. The new building was constructed to acthe quality education it provides to its comodate the growing number of enrollees. Next year, another building will be added for the opening of a high school department, starting with Grade 7. pupils.

The school made its mark in the previous Nueva Ecija Private Pre-Elementary and Elementary Schools Association (NEPPESA) Quiz Bee for the 4th Congressional District held at the San Agustin Diocesan Academy on November 25 last year. Seven pupils from BCIS emerged as winners in the competition for their respective grade levels. The winners were Prince Ericho C. Ortiz Luis (Science, champion), Julia J. In the following quiz bee for the division level held last February 10 this year, Duane Garret T. Lerias placed 1st runner-up in the English quiz bee.

To further be able to provide quality education to the community, the Blessed Children Integrated School (BCIS) will be offering Grade 7 or first year high school next year. This was unanimously decided by the the School Board in a meeting with the school principal on August 30. Mr. Fernando Burayag, in charge of building and other constructions, was tasked to oversee the construction of the new high school building.

Santos dominates pupil govt election

BCIS celebrates Nutrition Month

The launching of Nutrition Month was held on July 12 through a simple parade of elementary pupils and teachers. The pupils carried placards with different slogans about proper nutrition. Free snacks were served to the pupils after the parade. As part of the activities, a Medical and Dental Check-up was held on July 26. Invited doctors and dentists were Dr. Recy Sagun, Dr. Ricky Salvador and Dr. Mark Louie Francisco. Mrs. Ahrlene Mangilit, a medical representative, was also invited. Mrs. Mangilit distributed free vitamins to the pupils and parents. To highlight the month-long celebration, coloring and drawing contests in the different levels were held, the winners of which were awarded during the Winnie-Roast Day and at the same time, birthday celebration of BCIS President Jorge Burayag. Preschool teachers attend NEPPESA training


To further develop their teaching skills and competencies, BCIS preschool teachers attended the Nueva Ecija Private Preschool Teachers Training on July 27 at the La Parilla Restaurant in Cabanatuan City. Teacher Meacess F. Laxamana, Teacher Joy C. Sigua and school principal Mrs. Cecila G. Burayag attended the said training. The resource speaker for the seminar was Dr. Leilanie S. Cunanan, one of the Assistant Superintendents of the Department of Education, Division of Cabanatuan. Journalism training held for BCISians


To develop their skills in journalism, a training-workshop was given to selected pupils from Grades III VI on July 11 and 12. The resource speaker for the seminar was Mr. Antonio T. Delgado, editor-in-chief of The Link, the college publication of General de Jesus College. In his talk, Mr. Delgado gave the students a brief introduction to campus journalism and outlined the qualities that a journalist must have. Then, he discussed the fundamentals of news writing, copy editing, headline writing and feature writing. Writing workshops followed each discussion, and winners were chosen for the categories. The winners in the Newswriting category were Princess Clarissa A. Mudlong, 1st place; Erika Lei SI. Domingo, 2nd place; Lalaine CJ S. Evangelista, 3rd place. Special citations were also given to Duane Garret T. Lerias, John Harvey P. Concepcion and Yasmien Grace B. Herrera. Meanwhile, the winning feature writers were Princess Clarissa A. BCIS, nakiisa sa PAISTIMA KA Festival

Nakibahagi ang Blessed Children Integrated School sa ginanap na Ikalawang PAISTIMA KA Festival noong Pebrero. Nakiisa ang mga guro, magulang at mag-aaral sa pagdiriwang na pinangunahan nina Mayor Gloria Crespo-Congco at Vice Mayor Ernesto Talens. Ang partisipasyon ng paaralan ay pinangunahan ng BCIS Drum and Lyre Band at ng BCIS Majorettes na naghandog ng natatanging pagtatanghal. Ang Majorettes ay sinanay ni Teacher Joy C. Sigua, habang ang HATAW NA! Ang BCIS Majorettes ay nagpakita ng kanilang husay sa Ikala- Drum and Lyre Band naman ay sinanay ni G. Richard P. BCIS offers free summer classes for preschool, Grade I

The school conducted free summer classes from April 23 to May 21 to help incoming pupils learn how to read and write, and to prepare them for formal schooling. Each pupil received a free bag from the school. On May 21, a simple graduation day ceremony for the summer class pupils was held. The pupils received freebies after the program. The free classes are held every summer as a part of the schools services.
