ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We feel proud privilege to extend our sincere thanks to all our well wishers who have affected our project work and us undoubtedly. We take credit for errors. We also take blame for the style which may at times appear to be reflection of our raw, undigested aimless empiricism.

Our foremost thanks to our Centre Head Mr. Bhupinderjeet Singh Bambah and Miss Ruchi (Project Incharge) and all other teachers of computer department who paved the way for us at every step in the progress of our project. We would also like to very sincerely thank our parents who supported us at every step. Without their guidance and support, this project would not have seen the light of the day .It is the place where we installed our first software and these people provided us that opportunity to remove the drawbacks of their existing system by software, which is very convenient for the examiners and students.

INTODUCTION
Inspired by a speech by antiseptic advocate Joseph Lister, Robert Wood Johnson, joined brothers James Wood Johnson and Edward Mead Johnson to create a line of ready-to-use surgical dressings in 1885. The company produced its first products in 1886 and incorporated in 1887. Robert Wood Johnson served as the first president of the company. He worked to improve sanitation practices in the

nineteenth century, and lent his name to a hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Upon his death in 1910, he was succeeded in the presidency by his brother James Wood Johnson until 1932, and then by his son, Robert Wood Johnson II. Robert Wood Johnson's granddaughter, Mary Lea Johnson Richards, was the first baby to appear on a Johnson & Johnson baby powder label.[9][10][11] His great-grandson, Jamie Johnson, made a documentary called Born Rich about the experience of growing up as the heir to one of the world's greatest fortunes.

Conducting business responsibly

Conducting business responsibly: Our Credo inspires us to do great things. We strive to deliver high-quality products andservices to meet our customers needs, and to do it accurately and promptly. We say we must treat each other with respect and be open to each others ideas. We promise to be good citizens of the world, protecting natural resources. We commit to experimenting with new ideas, and by extension, to learning from failure. By staying focused on these ideals, we will live up to our own expectations and those of our customers. Were listening to

our customers and other stakeholders to helpus to continue to be a trusted partner in health and well-being. For example, we held stakeholder dialogues on executive compensation and then redesigned our long-term incentive program for named executive officers with the aim of drawing more visible link between pay and performance. We became the first health care company to join the prestigious Billion Dollar Roundtable upon achieving global spending of at least $1 billion with diverse suppliers and increased our spend with diverse suppliers to $1.3 billion in 2011.

Challenges
Tightening integration of our quality systems across the enterprise. In 2011, McNeil Consumer Healthcare signed a consent decree with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which governs certain manufacturing operations. We incurred costs for the recall of DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc.s ASR XL Acetabular System and ASR Hip Resurfacing System. Reinforcing our culture of compliance. Stemming from subsidiaries outside the U.S. that were believed to have made improper payments in connection with the sale of medical devices, we entered into a three-year Deferred Prosecution Agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice and related

agreements with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission and the U.K. Serious Fraud Office. Reducing complexity and redundancies throughout our global supply chain so our companies can consistently produce high-quality products, maintain reliable supply and increase customer satisfaction. Manufacturing problems at a supplier created a shortage of Janssen Products, LPs cancer drug DOXIL (doxorubicin HCl liposome injection) in 2011.

Managing pricing pressures. Our Medical Devices and Diagnostics segment is facing more pressure on product prices because hospital customers are looking for cost relief. The global economy has also affected sales of medical devices, with people postponing non-acute care.

Reversing a 7 percent increase in crashes among our fleet of vehicles. While well below our baseline year of 1995, our crashes per million miles driven increased in 2011 to 5.94 from 5.53 in 2010. Continuing to reduce our water consumption. While we achieved a 1.2 percent absolute reduction in water in 2011, more than 15 years of implementing water-saving projects and the low cost of water make further water reduction projects less financially feasible.

Management Approach
Johnson & Johnson is a company of enduring strength. We've been privileged to play a role in helping millions of people the world over be well and stay well through more than a century of change. As the science of human health and well-being has grown, we've been able to grow along with it. Even more important, we've helped shape and define what health and well-

being means in every day lives. Our products, services, ideas and giving now touch the lives of at least one billion people everyday.

We credit our strength and endurance to a consistent approach to managing our business, and to the character of our people. We are guided in everything we do by Our Credo, a management document authored more than 60 years ago by Robert Wood Johnson, former chairman from 1932 to 1963, and by four strategic principles.

Foundation The Strategic Framework starts with Our Credo, the guide to help us navigate our way through challenges and opportunities. From Our Credo, Our Aspiration emerges by caring, one person at a time, we help billions of people around the world live longer, healthier and happier lives. Strategic Principles We build from this foundation a unique set of strategic principles.

We are broadly based in health care. Our focus is on managing for the long term. We operate under a decentralized management approach. And we do all this through a unique culture that values and fosters the development of our people.

Growth Drivers
Our growth drivers are the specific areas of focus that help ensure our robust growth for the future. In today's highly competitive global marketplace, it is also essential that we focus on the critical drivers of our future growth: to create value through innovation, to extend our global reach, with local focus, to execute with excellence in everything we do. We pursue our growth drivers guided by the Leadership Imperatives: Connect, Shape, Lead and Deliver.

Credo Values
The values that guide our decision making are spelled out in Our Credo. Put simply, Our Credo challenges us to put the needs and well-being of the people we serve first. Robert Wood Johnson, former chairman from 1932 to 1963 and a member of the Companys founding family, crafted Our Credo himself in 1943, just before Johnson & Johnson became a publicly traded company. This was long before anyone ever heard the term corporate social responsibility. Our Credo is more than

just a moral compass. We believe its a recipe for business success. The fact that Johnson & Johnson is one of only a handful of companies that have flourished through more than a century of change is proof of that.

Additional information illustrating Our Credo Values can be found at:

Together with our partners, we are helping mothers and infants survive childbirth. We are supporting doctors, nurses and local leaders as they work to provide the best medical care to their people. Educational Programs and Material Support

Every day, scientists and doctors discover new information about health and disease and how various products are best used on behalf of patients. Medical specialty societies, academic institutions and other groups that provide medical education often look to pharmaceutical and medical device companies to support their education programs. We believe this is an important way to advance medicine and health care, and our companies are expected to follow a set process when making educational grants. The guiding principles we use to evaluate whether to support such programs are based on recognized standards:

Educational grants may be given to bona fide educational

activities for health care professionals or patients, and may include funding for accredited continuing education, fellowships, and patient education.

Educational grants are given to institutions, not to

individual health care professionals.

Grants cannot be used to induce customers to purchase

or use our products or services, to promote off-label uses of products, or as a substitute for discounts.

Grants cannot be used to induce customers to purchase

or use our products or services, to promote off-label uses of products, or as a substitute for discounts.

Requests are evaluated and amounts determined by a

committee independent of the sales and marketing groups.

Grants are made to educational programs that are

scientifically justified, and that are not intended to be promotional.

ISO certification means that aquality management system has been thoroughly reviewed by an outside audit committee and found to satisfy rigorous standards when it comes to such important principles as customer focus, leadership, employee involvement, and continual improvement. All Johnson & Johnson operating company facilities that make medicines or medical devices meet current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) outlined by the FDA or one or more other national regulatory agencies. Our companies work closely with health authorities, various standard-setting bodies, and professional organizations worldwide to be sure our quality systems are up-todate and continually improving.

Role of Incentives and Rewards in Remaining Healthy

Most people do the things they are rewarded for and dont do the things that cause them problems. Thats true in health as well as most other aspects of life. Incentives play an important role in promoting good health, and in encouraging specific behaviors, decisions, or actions that will help people live healthy lives. There can also be disincentives in the health care system, which act to discourage healthy behaviors. The types of incentives, or disincentives, can vary widely, and usually depend on whom they target.

Cost-Sharing
Cost sharing, or requiring a person to pay a portion of his health care services, is commonly used to discourage patients from seeking unnecessary medical care. Cost sharing often takes the form of a co-payment or co-pay, which is usually only a small fraction of the actual cost of the medical service. The remainder of the cost is covered by the persons insurance company or by the government payer. Some research suggests that, at times, copays may serve to discourage some people from

using certain types of care. A RAND study found that people with chronic diseases who were receiving routine care cut their use of needed prescription medicines when they had co-pays.On the other hand, financial incentives such as no co-pays for high-risk patients may help to improve how well patients follow their prescribed treatment.

Taking Action
At Johnson & Johnson, we advocate for policies that appropriately use incentives to improve care, and we work to alleviate disincentives for patients who cannot afford to pay for their prescription medications. Weve also developed our own health incentives for employees. This includes a comprehensive Healthy People program based on the U.S. governments Healthy People 2010 initiative. Through this program, we provide incentives to our employees and their families that encourage them to adopt preventative lifestyles and make healthy choices.
