THE HEALING TOUCH OF GOD

LET US RECALL THAT WE LIVE AND WORK IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD. WE PRAY IN THE NAME OF OUR GOD WHO IS CREATOR, REDEEMER, AND SANCTIFIER.

PRAYER
In the midst of my confusion, in the time of desperate need, when I am thinking not too clearly, a gentle voice does intercede. Slow down, slow down, be still be still, and wait on the spirit of the Lord. Slow down and hear Gods voice, and know that it is God. In the time of tribulation, when Im feeling so unsure, when things are pressing in about me, comes a gentle voice so still, so pure. Slow down and hear Gods voice, be still, and wait on the spirit of the Lord. Slow down and hear Gods voice, and know that it is God. (Chuck Girard)

READING
For my own part, I tell you now that if God had revealed to me all the labor and the crosses that were to accompany any good I was to do in founding the Brothers of the Christian Schools, my courage would have failed. Far from understanding it, I would never have started the work in first place. I have been persecuted by the Church, by those from those I have every right to expect help. My own Brothers, those whom I cherish with utmost tenderness, whom I trained with the greatest care and affection, and to whom I looked for help in serving the poor, rose up against me. This most of all added to the turmoil of my soul. In a word, if God had not held out a hand and visibly sustained me along the way, I would long ago have been buried under my own ruins.

REFLECTION
You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, Who abide in His shadow for life, Say to the Lord, My refuge, My rock in whom I trust! You need not fear the terror of the night, Nor the arrow that flies by day; Thou thousands fall about you, Near you shall it not come. The snare of the fowler will never capture you, And famine will bring you no fear: Under His wings your refuge, His faithfulness your shield. For His angels, Hes given a command To guard you in all your ways; Upon their hands they will bear your up, Lest you dust your foot against a stone.

AND HE WILL RAISE YOU UP ON EAGLES WINGS BEAR YOU ON THE BREATH OF DAWN, MAKE YOU TO SHINE LIKE SUN, AND TO HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND.

READING The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want; He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still water; He restores my soul. He leads in path of righteousness For His names sake. Even though I walk through valley of shadow of death, I fear no evil; For you are with me; Your rod and your staff, They comfort me. You prepare a table before me In the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil, My cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I shall dwell to the house of the Lord forever.

REFLECTION O Spirit of God, Set at rest the crowded, hurrying, thoughts within our minds and hearts. (pause) Let the peace and quiet of your presence take possession of us. (pause) Help us to relax, to rest, to become open and receptive to you. (pause) Cleanse our inmost spirits of the memories of hurts and fears, the frustrated desires, the unresolved tensions and dilemmas of life . (pause) Grant us freedom, life and love. (pause) Help us to wait patiently your healing, your peace and your word. (pause) And in thanksgiving we pray (add your prayers of thanksgiving) PRAYER Lord, go before us to lead us, Behind us to prompt us Under us to support us Above us to bless us Around us to protect us. Come with us that we may serve you With body and soul and mind, To the glory of your name. We are the light to others, We pray that our light may shines so bright That the may see our good works And give glory to you. Amen.
