Competencies refer to the characteristics of position and the behaviours, trainings and accomplishments that are required for successful job performance. Competency levels differentiate at various levels. At Highway Industries Ltd. , the organization hierarchy levels (top to down)are; 1. Senior Vice President 2. Vice President 3. Associate Vice President 4. General Manager 5. Deputy General Manager 6. Asstt. General Manager 7. Sr. Manager 8. Manager 9. Asst. Manager 10. Sr. Engineer 11. Engineer 12. Jr. Engineer 13. Supervisor 14. Asst. Supervisor 15. Sr. Inspector 16. Inspector Competencies are categorized as follows: 1. Technical or Professional Competencies 2. Interpersonal Competencies 3. Conceptual/ Attitudinal Competencies In the entire above categories competency level are given1mark to every Level. NOTE: Conceptual are mental ability to analyse and diagnose complex situations & positive attitude. Thus is further attributed to ability to spot the problem, interpret the information, identify the alternatives, correct the problems and evaluate the alternatives to rationalize. Competencies levels (CL) for (Senior Vice President/Vice President/Associate Vice President)

Professional Competencies CL1 Knowledge of all Operations CL2Overall knowledge about product/customers CL3 Understanding of legal & other requirements as per compliance evaluation checklist, AIA,GRA & all procedures of IMS CL4 Ability to train others and take initiative and complete projects. Interpersonal Competencies CL1 Can plan and accomplish the activities effectively as an individual. CL2 Can plan, organize and monitor with the group/team. CL3 He can resolve conflicts, motivates, directs groups for better results and target achievement CL4 Maintain a network of outside contacts that provide favours and information. And shares it with other colleagues and subordinates. Conceptual Competencies CL1 Able to generate & collect ideas from other employees. CL2 Skilled in analytical & decision-making skills. CL3 Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvements and initiating/completion of Projects. CL4 Can represent the organization to outsiders as an industry expert.

Interpersonal Competencies CL1 Can plan and accomplish the activities effectively as an individual. CL2 Can plan, organize and monitor with the group/team. Competencies levels for (Supervisor; Asst. Supervisor; Sr. Inspector; Inspector; Officers) Technical or Professional Competencies CL1 Basic knowledge about the product/process/M/c/Jigs Fixture/Dies/Tools Settings CL2 - Basic knowledge of applicable Inspection/testing/measuring instruments. CL3 Understanding of Environmental aspects, OHS Hazards & Risks, Importance of all procedures, work instructions, dos/ donts, work permit, use of PPEs. CL4 Can train other colleagues. Interpersonal Competencies CL1 Can accomplish planned activities. CL2 Good in expression & communicator CL3 Good coordinators with colleagues and seniors. CL4 - Can do group discussion and group coordinators. Conceptual Competencies CL1 Able to generate & collect ideas from other employees. CL2 Skilled in analytical & decision making skills. CL3 Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvements and initiating actions . CL4- Fully participates till the improvement is done.
