Introduction
Your Keysecurepc comes with the best commercial Windows emulator software available on the market today: Crossover Linux Professional. Thousands of applications are compatible; for a complete list see manufacturers page at http://www.codeweavers.com/ The emulator ensures that you can continue to use applications such as Word 2007, Excel 2007, Outlook 2007, Visio, PowerPoint 2007, and many others. Compatible software is divided into three main categories, classified according to level of compatibility. Gold Medal software includes applications with the same performance level on your Keysecurepc as on Microsoft Windows. Other software is classified as Silver Medal or Bronze Medal. Definition of levels: Gold Medal (officially supported): The gold medal is awarded to those applications that install and run via CrossOver on your Keysecurepc exactly as they would in Microsoft Windows. CodeWeavers offers continuous support for such applications. Silver Medal (officially supported): The silver medal is awarded to all applications the emulation of which is sufficiently stable and usable; they may have bugs preventing them from running flawlessly but are otherwise usable. All applications which have been awarded the silver medal are continuously updated so that they may be awarded a gold medal as quickly as possible and through upgrades to your emulator. Bronze Medal (officially supported): The bronze medal is awarded to those applications that can be installed but lose some of their original functionality; therefore caution is recommended. As these are officially supported, continuous efforts are however made by programmers to bring these applications up to silver medal level by raising their level of compatibility and stability. Other applications on the list are referred to as untested. These applications have not been tested. Applications not mentioned in the list are considered untested, but we invite you to do so if you like. Other applications are referred to as Known not to work. The applications listed in this category are not compatible.

Use
Installing compatible software Software can be installed in one of 2 ways, either manually or through C4P files. Approximately 500 C4P files are available on the manufacturers website and can be installed at a click. Installing Manual You must have the CD-ROM or the appropriate installation files on an accessible storage medium to install a programme manually. In order to install, for example, Microsoft Office Suite, simply carry out the procedure described below. Run CrossOver Install Windows Software.

The emulator will recognize the CD-Rom you inserted and automatically launch Microsoft Office 2007 installation.
Click Install and proceed. The software will now create a Microsoft 2007 bottle (your emulator uses the term bottle for the installation directory of the various programmes emulated). Accept installation of all required and useful components during installation of your copy of Office 2007, as shown in the following screenshots.

Enter your product key number (it can be entered later) and click Continue. Select the Customize menu and uncheck installation of Microsoft Office Access and Office Tools, which is recommended as these are known not to work. (Access .mdb files can nevertheless be managed by other compatible applications that process them).
Installation is now complete and you can use all Microsoft Office 2007 Suite applications.

16
You must select the compatibility level you require, i.e. a new win2000, win98, winxp, or winvista bottle and manually enter a name for the bottle; for consistency we will name it TeamViewer, but the name can be any valid filename, provided it does not contain spaces. If you are not satisfied with the results from the first mode, try another from those available. However we recommend choosing a New winxp bottle for older software, as this ensures broad compatibility.
Select Proceed and then, on the next screen, select Other Application

The installation procedure is now the same as that on the Windows platform; follow the instructions from the installer, confirming and/or authorising when prompted during the installation process.
Once again, your emulator will create a corresponding menu item for the programme you have just installed

Advanced/useful features
The Professional version of the CrossOver emulator included on your Keysecurepc comprises useful advanced features, the most important of which is being able to export bottles. Once you have installed a programme using one of the above procedures, you can create an executable file that can be installed directly and natively on your Keysecurepc without directly using the CrossOver emulator, which needs to be installed. This involves just a few, simple steps: Select Bottle Manager in the emulator

Select Advanced
Select the bottle corresponding to the programme for which you want to create an installer - TeamViewer for example - and click on Create a Package from this Bottle...

The system now asks you to choose the Package Type to create, defaulting to a deb file, which you confirm. Then choose the Location folder in which to save the package. The Release option allows you to specify a version number if you so wish. Confirm the proposed Packager - Bottle Packager <keysecure>. Confirm the Product ID shown; changing the name could affect the usability of the file that you generate.
Click Create and CrossOver will begin to create the installation package. The time required to create the package directly depends on the size of the Programme that you are packaging. In the case of Office 2007, the time could extend to several dozen minutes, while for TeamViewer the time is well below 5 minutes.
