COURSES IN EXPORT / IMPORT MANAGEMENT

Course Outline Companies, striving to find new customers, protect their sales against a declining home market and foreign competition, and maintain production and manufacturing levels acknowledge the need to export and compete internationally. Staff who are knowledgeable and qualified in this area of business are essential to companies who intend to or are already trading in the world market. The Certificate course in Export/Import Procedures provides the knowledge and skills necessary for a first significant post while the Diploma course builds on the knowledge of export/import procedures acquired at the Certificate level and explores managerial and policy making aspects associated with trading internationally. On completion of both courses students are able to formulate procedures for international trade and ultimately manage this function on behalf of a company. The inclusion of three optional subjects also enables students in the final part of the Diploma course to select a subject for study which they consider important in their particular area of business or future career. The courses in Export/Import Management of the London Centre of Management are exclusive, promoted worldwide and are provided by a BAC accredited college. The British Council Offices throughout the world, only recommend British, State or BAC accredited colleges to students who wish to follow a further or higher education course in Britain. These colleges advertise to and attract students from all over the world, therefore, their courses are designed to meet international needs and standards.

Plus one subject from the following options: Business Law or Marketing, Advertising & PR or Marketing Online Notes: (i) Students who fail to obtain the Diploma but pass the two subjects highlighted with an asterisk *, plus all of the Certificate level subjects, will be awarded the Higher Certificate in Exporting/Importing and all subjects passed will be entered on the qualification issued. (ii) A tuition Centre will determine which optional subjects it is able to offer. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Length of Course (Intensive) Certificate Level - One semester of full-time intensive study. Diploma Level - One semester of full-time intensive study. Where an LCM Recognised Centre provides the courses on a non-intensive basis the courses will take longer to complete. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Entry Requirements Certificate Level 1. 2 GCSEs/GCEs or High School Leaving Certificate/Diploma 2. Two years experience for candidates 19 years of age or over. Diploma Level The Certificate in Export/Import Procedures or equivalent qualification. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Exemptions Exemptions are awarded at the discretion of LCM to candidates with an appropriate qualification. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Certification On successful completion of the Certificate course, students are awarded the Certificate in Export/Import Procedures of the London Centre of Management and may use the designatory letters Cert.EIP.
