IIM C calls: PGDM/PGDCM/BOTH Final calls: PGDCM GD/PI venue: IIMC GROUP DISCUSSION: Topic of the GD: Should elections be held under Presidents rule? No. of participants in the GD: 10 (most probably) Time Limit and any other instructions: Nothing in particular Whether asked to summarize the GD: Yes (Everyone was asked to do it one by one on a random basis) Whether a written summary of the GD was asked: No THE GD EXPERIENCE: (please provide at least 5 lines of description) The topic was such that not everyone had a lot to talk about. It was relatively (when compared to IIMK or Ls GD) peaceful with everyone getting ample opportunity to talk. There were a few guys who were trying to fight for airtime but that did not really create too much commotion. I believe that it was just the nature of the topic that allowed the GD to move on smoothly. Another thing that was noticeable was that people discussed any new (and good) point quite elaborately. So instead of trying to get in too often, I decided to work on a strategy where I would wait and watch for a lull in the discussion and would come out with a totally new point (which the group had not discussed till then) at that point. This also gave me recognition when people started summarizing (They went like As our friend pointed out.. blah blah). The Professors were stationed in their respective seats and did not interrupt until the end when they asked each one of us to summarize the GD randomly.

How would you rate the Chaos level in the GD (on a scale of 1-10, 1 being most peaceful 10 being most chaotic): 4/10 Any observations on mistakes you committed in the GD: None. Any observations of what you could have done better in the GD: None.

Any tips for GD preparation: Be as natural as possible Try and come out with new/relevant points rather than fighting for airtime Dont put in extra points while summarizing Do prepare relevant current affairs/ economic topics. (Dont know how much they would help but better be safe rather than sorry )

PERSONAL INTERVIEW: No of interviewers in the Panel: 3 List of the questions asked and your responses: (Intro questions/acad based questions/work experience based/general awareness/personal questions) 20 minutes interview. 15-16 minutes revolved around my work experience. Ranged from the business model to nature of responsibilities to a few technical questions on trading and capital markets (very easy ones). It was not grilling as such. It was more of a general discussion. (Could have been because I had a unique work experience) 2 more questions: Explain Supersub in cricket. (He asked me whether I liked cricket) It was a sitter. Discuss the demerits of the software industry in India My response was a few general points. (Talked about skilled workers deficiency in the manufacturing sector, etc.)

Any observations on mistakes you committed in the PI: None.

Any observations of what you could have done better in the PI: None.

Any tips for Personal Interview preparation: You should know about your work thoroughly. (If you have one, that is) You should be fully prepared to answer any question from whatever you have mentioned in the interview form. You should admit not knowing an answer rather that blabbering anything.
