29 Nicolae Romanescu Teacher: Andreescu Hermina Maria Date: October 14th Grade: 3rd C No. of Pupils: 28 Topic: Colourful Poems Time of Lesson: 45 Textbook: Way Ahead 1 Skills involved: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing Material: cards, coloured pencils, worksheets,textbooks, projector Teaching Aims: to revise vocabulary related to colours, fruit, seasons, toys, animals through poems to use A/ An to practise the question Whats this? to encourage pupils to communicate in English Learning Aims: to revise words related to colours, seasons, toys, fruit and use them in a given context to make the difference between A and An to use A/ An and the question Whats this? in short dialogues to use the revised vocabulary in different contexts Assumptions: Pupils are familiar to the vocabulary related to colours, seasons, toys, fruit and their pronounciation Pupils should know how to use A and An Pupils should be able to make the connection between words and cards Pupils should be familiar to the poems related to the revised vocabulary Anticipated Problems: Some pupils may have difficulties in pronunciation Some pupils may not remember the vocabulary related to toys, seasons, fruit and colours Some Students may not be able to name all the objects on the cards Interaction: TPs,PP, PT Class Management: The classroom provides the necessary environment for working in groups There will be flash cards, worksheets, textbooks on Pupils desks Attending Strategies: Ts role: conductor, standing front centre for presentation Ts attitude: moves around the class, keeps eye- contact but also encourages Ps to speak

Evaluation: Initial - through warm-up activity Continue- observation, activities, analyses of answers Final- oral, homework STAGES Warm-up Objectives: to check the Ps homework and correct them if necessary Class management: the whole class Timing:5 Procedure: The T greets the Ps, asks for absentees and puts questions related to their homework. The Ps answer the questions and the T corrects them if necessary. Activity One: Objectives: to revise vocabulary related to animals, fruit and toys and to practise the question Whats this? and the short answers Its a/ an ... to use A and An Class management: pair work, group work Teaching Aids: Projector, Textbooks Timing: 10 Procedure: T asks Ps to match the words and pictures, by making short dialogues: A:Whats this? B: Its a bus. Activity Two Objectives: to revise colours and the poem related to colours and seasons. Class management: whole class Teaching Aids: projector and a poster Timing: 10 Procedure: Once identified the objects, animals, fruit from the pictures, T asks Ps what colours they are, by using the question What colour is the bus?. Then, the T puts the question What colour is spring? T asks Ps to name the four seasons and to remember the poem Seasons: Spring is green Summer is bright Autumn is orange And winter is white Activity three Objectives: to recognize the objects from the flashcards and use colours in a different context, a new poem Class management: whole class Teaching Aids: flashcards, poster Timing: 15 Procedure: T tells Ps a poem and shows them flashcards at the same time:

Orange is a carrot/ Brown is a bear/ Green is the plum/ And yellow is a pear Then T asks Ps to recognize the objects, animals, fruit and to name the colours they are. T:Whats this? P: Its a carrot. T: What colour is the carrot? P: The carrot is orange So, T:Orange is a carrot. T asks Ps to remember the poem, and to recite it by using the flashcards at the same time. Activity Four: Homework Objectives: to recognize the words and to colour the odd one Class management: Whole Class Teaching aid: worksheets Timing: 5 Procedure: T gives Ps the worksheets and explains them to colour the words that dont fit the group. T gives an example and asks Ps to do the exercise orally.
