We have received several donations in the last
few months. One of those stands out as a great example
for all of us to follow. It did not stand out because it
was a large amount… it was small. It did not stand out
because it was a great sacrifice. What made this $63.91
so special? It was worked for and given out of love.
! " Several children saw a need and wanted to help poor
"" children in Mexico. T hey put their heads together and
decided to sell lemonade. T hey sacrificed their
playtime to give to the poor.
( () What would make kids give up their precious
" time to help kids that they don’t know, and may never
# $" meet? It had to have been the Holy Spirit. Children do
% not naturally give up pleasure for work. Because this
" work was for Jesus, it was pleasurable. It was the pure
joy that the scripture talks about. Nothing else can
! make us feel the way that serving God does. Serving
% and pleasing God is why we were created! I just get
chills when I see scripture come to life. T his is why
Christ said in Matt 18:3 "…I tell you the truth, unless
! & you change and become like little children, you will
never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
I really prayed and thought of telling the names
" of the children in this article so they would get some
credit for this selfless act. I realized that I want them to
% know that real credit does not come from man. T hey
% know the credit has already been given. T his credit will
not rust, mold or perish. It is stored for them in Heaven.
" ' What can we learn from these children? We
learn that when we give, we should give because we
" want to please God. It has to be totally selfless. Not
" % born out of a feeling that we have to give, but because
" % we truly want to give. T he desire to please God comes
( ) from loving Him. Without love all of our efforts are in
