PROJECT WORK-I MINOR /INTRODUCTION TO INDUSTRY

Course Code: PW2001 Credits: 03
Objective: At the end of the second semester the students are required to do a mini summer project of 4-5 weeks duration. The project would give them an exposure to the industry. They would be able to apply multi-disciplinary concepts, tools and techniques to solve organizational problems. The School of Management Studies will appoint respective internal supervisors who will guide them in the preparation of the project report. The students would be required to submit a project report during third semester by a stipulated date, as a part of fulfillment of the BBA course and award of degree

Learning Outcomes: After the successful submission of the project report, students should be able to: Acquaint themselves with the actual work environment and to get them exposed to the latest technological developments / advancements related to the particular industry Familiarize themselves with organizational resources, processes and procedures prevalent Understand the recent trends of the selected industry Project Report The project may be in the form of any of the following Comprehensive case study (covering single organization/multifunctional area problem, formulation, analysis and recommendations) Inter-organizational study aimed at inter-organizational comparison / validation of theory / survey of management practices Field study (empirical study) Suggested Areas for Minor Projects 1. Work Values 2. Ethics at workplace 3. Working Conditions in the organization 4. Decision making Strategies 5. Employee Satisfaction 6. Training and Development 7. Marketing Strategies 8. Customer Satisfaction 9. The students have the flexibility to choose their topic and industry. The report should be related to any aspect of the management / organization from any industry. The students will have to indicate

the tentative title to their internal project guides by the end of the second semester.
Guidelines for Project Report

The format that the students should follow while submitting the project report as follows: Title Page University certificate Supervisor/Guide certificate Organizations / Company Certificate, from where the student did project Acknowledgments Index of contents with page numbers Chapter Plan Chapter 1. Introduction & Rationale for the Study Chapter 2. Objectives, Scope & Limitations of the Study Chapter 3. Profile of the Company / Industry Chapter 4. Theoretical Perspective / Conceptual Framework Chapter 5. Research Methodology Research Design Data collection methods/sources Sampling plan, including sampling unit, sampling size and sampling methods, viz questionnaire methods, interview methods, observations, time series analysis etc. Chapter 6. Data Analysis and Interpretations (using various charts and graphs) Chapter 7. Findings and Conclusions Chapter 8. Expected Contribution from the study and Future Scope Appendix Copies of questionnaire\ Copies of form(s) if any from the company Bibliography & References Paper Specifications i) Project should be in Black cover Hard-Bound ii) The total Number of pages of the entire project should be around 50-100 Text Requirements Font style Times New Roman Font Size for running matter 12 Font size for Heading 16 Font Size for Sub-heading 14 Line Spacing 1.5 A blank page must be placed at the beginning and end of each thesis copy. Separate sheets should be used in between the Chapters containing Title and Chapter no. Evaluation
The project report will carry 100 marks. Marks will be awarded by the panel of two examiners (appointed by the University) who will be conducting the Viva-Voce at the end of the semester. The evaluation will be done on original, genuine and non-plagiarist work. Zero tolerance of project work done not properly and ethically.
