Despite the fact that Maili Church of Christ is still a mission church it has started another mission in Jfanakuli. Maili Mission supplies all the personnel
and financial needs of the nev; work.
$300-00 has bc-en received for the project so far, and all but $25.00 of this has come from the two mission churches of Maili and Maka.ha. Thou^-h this is not prima

MISSION
TOfS-O-aRAM
The Lord "be praisedl Five more souls were added to Maili Church (three "by bap tism) last Lordis Day. This was the conclusion of a one-week revival led "by Brother
Richard Osness, of Pearl Harbor. Three of those added were adults; the others i^ere a
In the "Aches and Pains Department", son Timothy is hattlin^. a mild case of Rheumatic Fever. He is still permitted to to school, hut all other activities are
fjreatly curtailed. He has not been well since he spent a v;eek in the host>ital as the result of an attack of Samoan Flu, in March. Our Chinese doctor is a very patient
man and has "been very lenient about fees, but still the illness has run into consider
able cost.
Speaking of finances, our total receipts, from all sources, for the first four
months of this year averaged $93*00 per week, compared to $102.50 per week for the same period last year. While v/e realize there are a vast number of worthy appeals from many mission fields round the world we urge all our supporters to not let Hawaii down not yet. While the cost of living here is probably higher than any other mis sion field in the world, it is also probably true that missionaries here operate on
a smaller budp-et than anywhere else, with perhaps a few stateside exceptions. Maili
Mission is movin in the direction of self support (they recently voted to pay us $15'00 a month toward our support, plus absorbinr- most of the local expenses), but
wo still need your help, especially as the American dollar continues to shrink in
value.
The Soush family is due to return tonight to resume their ministry with the
Makaha Church, pnd to lead in the establishment of the new Bast-West Bible College
which will open in September. We wish to thank all the good folk v/ho have sent books for the College library. More books can still be used; if you have some to offer let
us know.
