SIGNIFICANT LESSONS FROM THE BOOK OF JOSHUA JOSHUA 1:1-18

The book of Exodus open with a main figure Moses and the book of Joshua opens with the end of that Figure Moses. Joshua 1:1,2 Question How come this book does not come after the book of Exodus, actually it does. Moses wrote the first five books of the old testament so when you read Numbers its Moses Leveticus, Moses, Deuteronomy its all Moses. In Exodus Isreal is will be free from captivity but in Joshua they will conque and claim their possession. Exodus records how God led his people out of the land of bondage, while Joshua tells us how God leds his people into the land of blessing. The book of Joshua is a counterpart of the Exodus. See Moses said in Duet. 6:23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to

give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

God parted the waters of the red sea to bring his people out of Egypt. Now In Joshua he will part the waters of Jordan river to bring his people into Canaan. Josh 3:13-17 Now this is symbolic, they had two baptism experience. In the New testament we three baptism. Baptism into the ody of Christ, by water and by the Spirit. Baptism means a process of immersion, submersion and emergence, it from the greek verb baptizo which means to dip into. See the symbolism of their experience to us today. 1. When they came out of Egypt God passed they through the Red Sea, scripture says the Red sea stood as wall on the right and on their left as they passed through. What was John doing in the wilderness? He was baptizing them as a sign of coming out of an old life into freedom but remember he said there will come another baptism. So when the passed through the red sea they were baptized into a new life, a whole new experience had began. 2. Their second experience was also important as the pass through Jordan it was to bring them into their inheritance and it was to be stress less becos this 2nd experience was to birth revelation in the heart of Joshua, the revelation of God that kills self efforts. So two things happened in this second baptism, 1. REVELATION 2.END OF SELF EFFORT (SURRENDER- TAKE OF YOUR SHOES) There was a circumsition in Exodus yet another in Joshua Josh 5:2 READ

At that time the LORD said unto Joshua, Make thee sharp knives, and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time. SEE VS 9 And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day. YES THEY WERE OUT OF EGYPT, ITS REPROACH WAS STILL ON THEM IT WAS IN THIS SECOND EXPERIENCE THAT ALL THE SHAME AND PAIN OF THEIR LIFE IN EGPYT WILL Be dealt with. Not By the works of their hand but by God himself.
People say that they know believers who still suffer from the hands of the devil yes they are right those belivers have not come to experience the second baptism that cuts them off every entanglement of the devil.

Joshua has been called the Ephensians of the old testament why?
