In Stockinette stitch, 14 sts and 19 rows = 4"/10cm, using larger needles SPECIAL TERMS C6B-p1: Slip 3 sts to cn, hold to back, k1, p1, k1, k3 from cn. C6F-p1: Slip 3 sts to cn, hold to front, k3, k1, p1, k1 from cn. C6B-p2: Slip 3 sts to cn, hold to back, p1, k1, p1, k3 from cn. C6F-p2: Slip 3 sts to cn, hold to front, k3, p1, k1, p1 from cn. LLI (left lifted increase): With lefthand needle, pick up st 2 rows below last st on right-hand needle, knit into back of picked-up st. (1 st increased)

STITCHES USED Cable Pattern (panel of 18 sts) Note: You may work Cable Pattern from text or Chart. Rows 1, 3, 17, 19, 21, and 23 (RS): P3, k4, [p1, k1] twice, p1, k3, p3. Rows 2, 4, 16, 18, 20, and 22: K3, p4, [k1, p1] twice, k1, p3, k3. Row 5: P3, C6B-p1, C6F-p2, p3. Rows 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14: K3, p1, k1, p7, k1, p1, k4. Rows 7, 9, 11 and 13: P3, k1, p1, k7, p1, k1, p4. Row 15: P3, C6F-p1, C6B-p2, p3. Row 24: Rep Row 16. Rep Rows 1-24 for Cable Pattern. Seed Stitch (multiple of 2 sts) Rnd 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to end. Rnd 2: Knit the purl sts and purl the knit sts as they face you. Rep Rnd 2 for Seed Stitch. CABLE BAND With smaller needles, CO 18 sts. Work Rows 1-24 of Cable Pattern 4 times, then Rows 1 and 2 once. Piece should measure approx 21". BO all sts in pattern. Do not cut yarn. CROWN With RS of Cable Band facing, using larger circ needle and yarn from Cable Band, pick up and knit 60 sts along long edge of Cable Band. Join to work in the rnd; place marker at beginning of rnd. Rnd 1: Knit. Rnd 2: K2, *LLI, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts, k288 sts. Rnds 3-6: Work in Seed st. Rows 7-11: Knit. Rows 12-29: Rep Rows 3-11. Rows 30-33: Rep Rows 3-6. Shape Crown Note: Change to dpns when necessary for number of sts on needle. Dec Rnd 1: K9, k2tog; rep from * to end80 sts. Dec Rnd 2: K8, k2tog; rep from * to end72 sts. Dec Rnd 3: K7, k2tog; rep from * to end64 sts. Cont working Dec Rnds as established, working 1 less st before dec on each Dec Rnd, until 8 sts remain. Break yarn, weave through remaining sts, cinch shut on WS.

FINISHING Sew CO and BO edges of Cable Band together. Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
