Dear Ms VESELCIC Andrea,

Ms Ivana MALETI, Member of the European Parliament, has requested that you be recruited as an accredited parliamentary assistant. In my capacity as the authority authorised to conclude contracts on behalf of the European Parliament, I am pleased to make you an offer of employment as provided for by Article 5a of the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants of the European Communities (CEOS) amended by the Council Regulation (EC) No 160/2009 of 23 February 2009 a copy of which is enclosed in Annex IV. Please read all of the following information very carefully in order to ensure that your recruitment proceeds smoothly. 1 - TERMS OF THE OFFER
DURATION OF THE CONTRACT: If you accept this offer, you will be given a fixed-term

contract for the period from 01/07/2013 to the end of legislature. It will be a full-time contract.
DUTIES AND GRADING: You will be recruited in function group I, grade 2. By way of

indication, the basic salary for your grade, for a full-time post, is 1958,08 euros.
PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT: You will be employed in Brussels. You may be called upon to

travel outside your place of employment.

2 - OTHER INFORMATION CONCERNING THE TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT OF


ACCREDITED PARLIAMENTARY ASSISTANTS TAXATION: You will be liable to Community taxation pursuant to Regulation No 260/1968 of

the Council laying down the conditions and procedure for applying the tax for the benefit of the European Communities.
ALLOWANCES: Please see Annex III, which lists the various allowances which you might be

eligible to claim. It should be noted that this information is provided only as a guide. Only the Individual Entitlements Unit can inform you of your financial entitlements arising from your family and marital status once it has studied your personal file.
SOCIAL SECURITY: You will be covered by the joint social security scheme of the European

institutions. The main elements of the joint scheme are as follows: - Cover for risks of illness and accident (Article 135 of the CEOS, which refers to Article 95 of the CEOS); - Cover for the risk of unemployment (Article 136 of the CEOS, which refers to Article 96 of the CEOS); - Cover for risks of invalidity and death (Articles 135 and 136 of the CEOS, which refer to Article 99 of the CEOS); - Establishment of pension entitlements (Articles 135 and 136 of the CEOS, which refer to Article 109 of the CEOS). 3 - ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION
CREATION OF YOUR PERSONAL FILE: In order to recruit you and establish your

entitlements, the Administration needs to gather a certain number of items of information concerning your personal circumstances, and to obtain certain substantiating documents. You must without fail send us no later than five working days before the date on which you are to take up your duties: - an extract, less than one year old, from your criminal record file, - a nationality certificate or a certified photocopy of a valid identity card or passport, - a certified copy of a degree certificate (only if your grade is higher than grade 13), and, - where appropriate, any official document establishing that you have fulfilled your obligations as laid down in military service legislation. At this stage, it is sufficient to send us photocopies of these documents, but when you sign your contract you must supply originals or copies authenticated by an authority, person or organisation duly authorised by law. I would ask you to read Annex I, which contains a detailed list of the documents which you should forward to us as soon as possible to enable us to recruit you and establish your individual entitlements. Annex II contains a list of the other administrative forms which you will have to complete when you arrive at Parliament in order, in particular, to claim your social entitlements and enable your salary to be paid.
BANK ACCOUNT: When you take up your duties, you will be asked for complete particulars

(IBAN and BIC numbers) of a bank account in your name in Belgium. Please complete the form containing these details, which you will find in Annex II.2.

4 - VALIDITY OF THE OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT This offer is valid on condition that the following conditions are fulfilled:
CONFIRMATION OF THE ELECTION OF THE MEMBER WHO REQUESTED YOUR RECRUITMENT: This offer will lapse if the European Parliament adopts a decision declaring

that the mandate of the Member at whose request you are to be recruited is invalid.
ACCEPTANCE OF THIS OFFER: This offer is valid for 10 working days from the date on

which it was sent. Please contact the Recruitment and Transfers Unit of the European Parliament at the following e-mail address (AssistantsMEP.Recruit@europarl.europa.eu) within 10 working days to inform us whether you wish to accept or refuse this offer. If we do not receive a reply from you within this time limit, we reserve the right to consider that the offer has lapsed.
COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECRUITMENT CONDITIONS: This offer of employment is made

subject to verification that the conditions set out in Article 128 of the CEOS have been fulfilled, particularly on the basis of original substantiating documents which the Administration, after verification, will be able to return to you. I would draw your attention to the need to forward to us no later than five working days before the date on which you are to take up your duties, the documents listed in point 3, second paragraph, of this offer. Unless these documents are sent to us within the time limit, we reserve the right to postpone the date on which your contract is to take effect to a later date than quoted in this offer.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION: In accordance with Article 129 of the CEOS, our offer of
