1.

Many times, like Job, we like to complain to God and ask why certain things
happen to us.
2. Give up the right to know why and instead trust God that He will give you the
grace to stand during your trials and to withstand the fire.
2.1. Asking and questioning God if brought too far will lead us to doubt and
anger toward God, which is the most foolish thing to do.
2.2. Because God is our Creator, He is all powerful, nothing is ever a surprise
to God 'cause He knows everything. And all His plans for us are for our
good and not to harm us.
2.3. God knows everything about us!
2.3.1.Ps 139:1-5 O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You
know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all
my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O
LORD. You hem me in-- behind and before; you have laid your hand
upon me.
2.4. All His plans are for our good!
2.4.1.Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope
and a future.
3. Let’s go back to Job
4. Job complained and asked why
5. Job 3:11-12 "Why did I not perish at birth, and die as I came from the womb?
Why were there knees to receive me and breasts that I might be nursed?
6. Job 3:20-23 "Why is light given to those in misery, and life to the bitter of soul,
to those who long for death that does not come, who search for it more than
for hidden treasure, who are filled with gladness and rejoice when they reach
the grave? Why is life given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God has
hedged in?
7. Job 7:16-21
8. I despise my life; I would not live forever. Let me alone; my days have no
meaning. "What is man that you make so much of him, that you give him so
much attention, that you examine him every morning and test him every
moment? Will you never look away from me, or let me alone even for an
instant? If I have sinned, what have I done to you, O watcher of men? Why
have you made me your target? Have I become a burden to you? Why do you
not pardon my offenses and forgive my sins? For I will soon lie down in the
dust; you will search for me, but I will be no more."
9. Job 13:23-24 How many wrongs and sins have I committed? Show me my
offense and my sin.Why do you hide your face and consider me your enemy?
10. God answers Job
10.1.In Job 38:1-4 God answered Job's complaints and questions: "Then the
LORD answered Job out of the storm. He said: "Who is this that darkens
my counsel with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I
will question you, and you shall answer me.Where were you when I laid
the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand."
11. In our finite minds we cannot understand what we are going through.
12. But our Infinite LORD, our Father, sees and knows everything.
13. In Job 38 and the passages following God asked Job a whole bunch of
rhetorical questions.
13.1.Job 38:12 "Have you ever given orders to the morning, or shown the
dawn its place?
14. God made everything;the mountains, fields, sun and moon and stars, and
every animal, He knows everything, we are more important to God than
animals.
15. Imagine, God was talking to you for three whole chapters!
16. All the questions were meant to tell Job that God’s understanding and wisdom
are infinite
17. So in telling Job about how He created the heavens and the earth, and that
He knows and cares about creation, God was telling Job how infinite He was
compared to Job's situation.
18. Sometimes we think God has forgotten us. No he hasn’t! That’s a lie!
18.1.Luke 12:6-7 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of
them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all
numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
18.2.You are not forgotten! Don’t be afraid! You are worth more than many
sparrows!
19. God will not forget you!
19.1.Isa 44:21 "Remember these things, O Jacob, for you are my servant, O
Israel. I have made you, you are my servant; O Israel, I will not forget you.
19.2.Isa 49:14-16 But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, the Lord has
forgotten me." "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have
no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will
not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your
walls are ever before me.
20. Job had accused God because of his suffering. He had justified himself
instead in trusting in the Rock of Ages; he had discredited God's justice
because of his situation. But God answered him:
21. Job 40:1-2,7-8
The LORD said to Job:"Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct
him? Let him who accuses God answer him!..."Brace yourself like a man; I
will question you, and you shall answer me. "Would you discredit my justice?
Would you condemn me to justify yourself?
22. How did Job answer? He recognized his unworthiness...and promised to stop
complaining.
23. Job 40:3-5
Then Job answered the LORD:"I am unworthy-- how can I reply to you? I put
my hand over my mouth.I spoke once, but I have no answer-- twice, but I will
say no more."
24. He recognized his sin in what he said- how he had insulted God in
questioning God, which was basically "darkening God's counsel". Job did not
understand what happened, yet he dared question the One who understands
all things.
25. Job 42:1-6 Then Job replied to the LORD:
"I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.
'Who is this that obscures my counsel without knowledge?' Surely I spoke of
things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.
'Listen now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you shall answer me.'
My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.
Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes."
26. Don’t question God when you can’t understand what you are going through.
27. You should NOT question God’s wisdom and understanding just because the
circumstances of your life are difficult and harsh! Just trust God that He will
give you the grace to stand in your trials.
27.1.1.2 Cor 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my
power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the
more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest
on me.
27.1.2.Isa 55:8-9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your
ways my ways," declares the LORD."As the heavens are higher than
the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts
than your thoughts
28. Testimony
28.1.It recently happened to me. I discovered lumps , and thought of the
possibility it could be cancer. In all the turmoil in my thoughts following the
discovery, the Lord spoke to me in my heart: "Were you there when I laid
the foundations of the earth, when I made the sun and moon? Watch and
see what I can do in your situation."

A day later, lumps turned out to be benign cysts. But even if they were
cancerous, I KNOW the Lord is TRUSTWORTHY. I will trust and love the
Lord no matter what happens to me.
29. Isa 40:26-31 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, "My way is hidden from the
LORD; my cause is disregarded by my God"? Do you not know? Have you
not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the
earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can
fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those
who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like
eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
