TANZANIA PROGRAM

Background: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the worlds worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933 with Head quarters in New York, the IRC operates in more than 40 countries worldwide, offering lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to individuals/communities forced to flee from war or disaster. IRC seeks to recruit qualified, energetic and committed candidates to fill the following position: Position: Location: Reporting to: Specific duties: Lead identification and recruitment of Volunteer Para-Social Workers in 10 wards in Kasulu District. Lead coordination and contribute to the development of the healing family parenting modules and the development of the implementation guide for use by the ward volunteer Para-Social Workers Lead the translation of the parenting modules and the implementation guide into local languages and or Swahili ensuring quality of the translations and the production of adequate volume to project stakeholders Lead coordination with the IRC TU on the design of the Healing Families Parenting Modules and provide high quality TOT (trainer of trainers) trainings to Para-professional Social Workers in Kasulu District. Lead the development of strategic partnership and coordination with relevant national and local governmental and non governmental institutions including but not limited to the Department of Social Welfare (DSW), Institute of Social Work (ISW), Kasulu District Council (KDC), Ward Authorities, parents etc. a. Contribute to the improvement of program quality and delivery; research, collect, and analyze data to track program progress and evaluation.. Requirements Master Degree preferred in Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Neurology, Social Work and other relevant disciplines with at least three (4) years of relevant work experiences. First degree with 6-8 years of work experiences can be accepted in lieu of the Masters Knowledge of the local government systems Keen interest and enthusiasm in working for and with children. Excellent English and Swahili language skills (especially English language writing abilities).Willingness to comply with the organizations child protection policy and code of conduct. Experience working in the community parenting programs/and or child care is essential. Experience working as a trainer, using participatory techniques desirable. Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative required. Ability to work as part of a team that shares the common goal of preventing violence against women and children. Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting. Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
