Job Title: Job Purpose: Solutions Architect & Lead Infrastructure Engineer The Solutions Architect & Lead Infrastructure Engineer is a key position within Ergos Infrastructure Services Team (IS Team), ensuring that Ergos infrastructure services proposition is developed as a leading-edge solution for our clients. The role contributes directly to the achievement of Ergos sales targets and Ergos profile and visibility as a premium provider of IT services. Your key purpose will to work with the Operations Manager to: Design and develop the companys infrastructure services proposition, including supporting the sales team to increase infrastructure services sales. Be responsible for all technical aspects of the Infrastructure sales cycle, from initial Pre-sales discussions, solution design, pricing and proposals through to the implementation of these projects and hand-over to the Infrastructure support department. Resolve 3rd line Infrastructure support issues when escalated through the correct procedures and prioritised in-line with Pre-sales and Project Delivery activities.

The infrastructure services proposition will be developed and owned by Ergos IS Team, and signed-off by the Senior Management Team. The strategy will focus on the education sector but also be adaptable to other sectors of Ergos business. You will be expected to work with all parts of the business to achieve a coherent approach to our clients requirements. The Solutions Architect & Lead Infrastructure Engineer will be required to show innovation and present creative ideas to the IS Team. You will work with the Operations Manager to ensure that the proposition is technically & commercially viable, and that this is reflected in robust IS bids. You will need to listen to our customers and work with them to define, design and implement high-quality projects that enable them to achieve their goals. This role requires strong technical knowledge, a good business brain, good interpersonal skills, and an ability to motivate and manage others through the bidding cycle and implementation of infrastructure projects. You will also need to be able to handle the day-to-day work as well as the big picture. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record of infrastructure solutions design and delivery, project planning and documentation, excellent market knowledge, with a strong emphasis on the education marketplace. Responsible To: The Solutions Architect & Lead Infrastructure Engineer will report directly to the Operations Manager, and work closely with the Sales and Technical Teams to develop and deliver the infrastructure services development plan.

No direct reports (but managing the technical aspects of the bid process and deployment of infrastructure solutions with internal & external customers). Working Days: Monday to Friday Working Hours: In Ergo offices there are 3 shifts available - 8:00 to 16:20 | 9:00 to 17:20 | 9:40 to 18:00 (with a 50 minute lunch break) and they should be co-ordinated with the Operations Manager to ensure coverage in the department. Whilst working onsite at customer locations, across the UK, will require these hours to be adjusted to allow for each situation. Place of Work: Nottingham willingness to travel is essential and onsite work including overnight stays is an integral part of this role Salary: TBA Benefits : Pension Scheme, 22 Days Holiday, Pool Company Car Scheme, Mobile Phone Dress Code : Casual whilst in the office but either Smart or in Ergo uniform when customer facing Willingness to travel is essential. Key Accountabilities & Work with the Operations Manager to:Duties: Design and develop the companys infrastructure services proposition, including supporting the sales team to increase infrastructure services sales. o Serve as a solution/product SME to help identify and qualify business development opportunities. o Conduct impartial practical evaluations to support Ergos IS proposition review process. o Provide up-to-date technical information, sales collateral and product education to Ergos sales team. o Assist in the development of a focused IS sales/marketing strategy, in particular maintaining insight into customer requirements and competitors propositions. o With the IS Team, develop and maintain sales/supply partner relationships that support Ergos IS proposition. o With the IS Team, build and maintain a repository for deliverables, methodologies, and business development documents. Be responsible for all technical aspects of the Infrastructure sales cycle, from initial Pre-sales discussions, solution design, pricing and proposals through to the implementation of these projects and hand-over to the Infrastructure support department. o Take responsibility for Ergos IS solution being offered to specific customers, providing pre-sales technical support as directed o Perform customer visits as part of the pre-sales process to discuss the sales opportunity, establish clear customer requirements and goals for potential projects. o Collaborate with Ergo/Customer/Partner project & technical resources to provide pricing estimates, transition/implementation plans, resource plans etc.

Ensure that the customer requirement is translated into solution designs and detailed proposals that are both client-orientated and in-line with Ergos infrastructure proposition. o Liaise with customers to clarify the technical implementation details for projects and assist with pre-installation questionnaires. o Provide thorough and comprehensive detailed design documentation demonstrating a sound understanding of the entire project requirements (review and integrate 3rd Party content where required). o Lead a team of engineers to install and commission Infrastructure projects through pre-staging to site implementation and project signoff o Successfully complete infrastructure installations in accordance with all relevant technical standards, tested in-line with the detailed design providing a high level of customer satisfaction. Projects to be completed on time, on budget and utilising effective communication methods updating all parties as the project progresses. o Formal handover to the infrastructure support department with full systems documentation following the project signoff. o Provide training to customers on Ergos infrastructure solutions and within other areas of expertise. Resolve 3rd line Infrastructure support issues when escalated through the correct procedures and prioritised in-line with Pre-sales and Project Delivery activities. o Troubleshoot and resolve 3rd line infrastructure support issues when escalated through the correct procedures and prioritised in-line with pre-sales and project delivery activities. o Provide call updates in the helpdesk management system for escalated issues and utilise effective communication methods for updating the customer and IT Technical Services Manager. o Essential Significant knowledge of infrastructure services hardware and software including Servers, Storage, Networking, Wireless, Cloud etc. A proven track record of designing and delivering infrastructure solutions for SME. Experience of leading a team of engineers to deliver projects on time and in budget. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling the candidate to prepare and present recommendations to senior management. Must be able to translate customer requirements into technical specifications. Ability to manage multiple Desirable Virtualisation qualifications SAN specific qualifications Prince2 qualifications Specific Microsoft technology qualifications Proven experience of project management Strong financial management experience. Strong contractual management experience. Strong ITIL understanding.
