Substantial evidence proved that we were not alone, but just one; amongst a myriad.. . -Tharium Sakesh [Egypt, hunter of pride] The dusk of the new century came, and along with it; new ways of life, socially this torn many things apart, social misfits became even more distant to the new society, as well as family bonds in many cases no longer was as important as it were during the 20:th century. Career, profit and egoism characterized this new millennium, elitism in the top cream; comparisons, and generally; a harder life. From the dark pits of rebirth came the hunters, a fragment of the past; dug up to the light once again. They roam the land, earning money from different employees; sometimes, being a hunter is the only solution to economic problems, and the great variety between hunters has given them a bad reputation. Lately, there have been separate organizations formed among the hunters, to persue a specific goal within the specific coven.

Fear struck me, I was trapped like a rat; the only way out were down the sewers. The hole in the ground seemed like an abyss, a mouth to nowhere I had no choice, it was either that, or to face; whatever was coming for me from behind. I lept down into the void; grasping for faith and courage. I landed on solid ground, breathing heavily, my eyes adjusting to the new enviromental illumination suddenly, my sky turned black, the hatch above closed; and I heard someone climbing down the metal stairs. I bit my lower lip so hard; it began to bleed, as I ran; ran into emptiness, for I saw very little. I the hunter, had become a lamb the hunted prey, this was my first job, I had nightmares as a young kid, but none could be compared to this, adrenaline flowing through my veins like ice SLAM!, I did not see the wall before me, and fell like a tree; chopped down with a thousand hatches Thoughts of a survivor, a new hunter.

The most famous hunters in the entire world, are the order of the Crusaders of Christ, theyve been hired by the Catholic/Protestant church itself, incredible amounts of money have been spent, for to have the crme de la crme of hunters. There are many rumors that the CoC always only hired and employed hunters that strongly believed in God, its a fact that the most skilled of hunters are not. They survive and become stronger by taking from their prey; what they can. It is not a seldom event, that vampirehunters drink the blood of their targets, to grow in strength, and to be able to live longer. The CoC always denies these rumors, but I can confirm them. The grand difference between hunters, lies in experience; and in whom they have hunted and killed. Its a fact that vampirehunters are the most proficient, due to the fact that many of them have gained vampiric disciplines and powers. I stared at the hollow sky; left alone, with just memories within my slowly corroding mind. There was nothing around me, black hollow darkness. Silence; entwined with a growing feeling that something was to happen soon. This mission wouldve been a simple one, if just Mark and Dwight had survived, we were supposed to get out of this mess alive, together, they were my brothers. Everything around me sent small, almost unnoticeable sounds, I heard footsteps; somewhere in the end of the alley. There were no breathing, which made my body shiver from inside. It was one of them, an undead, born into a new life with a constant thirst for mortal blood. It felt me, it felt my fear, it smelled; and found out; my deepest secrets. I gathered my inner strength, and rushed toward the sound, as if every footstep was my last; I rushed, rushed, and ran through this; endless emptiness, like a bolt of ice through the black night. With incredible motion, I shoved one, then two, and finally; three punches in the kindreds torso, I couldnt have done anything like this if I hadnt tasted their essence, their blood. From it, I gained inhuman skills, and physical attributes, impossible to any modern man.

Crusaders of Christ

The biggest organization of hunters, most of their followers are Bishops with a deep belief in God and Christ, many have true faith; and many are quite deadly to a lone kindred. Since humans are inferior to the vampire in almost all aspects, the hunters realized that they had to improve their attributes somehow, and in the new modern age; technology was it. With electronics, the hunter could enhance almost all physical skills, thus trying to create an equality between him and his foe, but as with all electronics; there are some disadvantages. Eyes of domination resistance Through an advanced surgical procedure, the subject can exchange his eyes to electronic ones; that deny specific neural instructions, those that are caused by a kindred domination. Dominate only works if you both visually and audiably feel the vampire w/ its command. These implants prevent the signals from passing into the brain (which would cause it to change logic; for awhile). The downside of these eyes are; that this operation require the removal of your original eyes (which cannot be put back again), and that the tearchannels no longer will operate (disabling you from crying). Also, the lense needs to be replaced every month, due to the fact it gets scratched/lose focus fast. This is due to the amount of detail required, a small scratch changes the entire field of vision. Also, they are indeed expensive, its the latest of the latest, and if an operation fails, you can lose all sight forever. Muscle enhancers These are electronic emplants, that are placed on the arms; they also behave as armor (they are made of titanium), a small surgical procedure is required, to link the muscles, so the new arms follow the bearers movement. These increase strength dramatically, you can easily lift a large anvil, and toss it. (Strength + 4 (max 6)), despite this, you cant just lift as heavy things that you wish, as the human body isnt built for holding stuff, the back taking alot of damage. Thus, these can cause internal damages; beyond repair. Nerve stimulators These shots are taken intravenously; its a substance that increases the ability to see/feel everything around you, all reactions are inhumanly fast. The eyes percept even the slightest details, and all motion is noticeably faster. The downside of this, is that after 8 hours, the effect is removed, and the nervesystem exhausted for 1-2 days, causing drowsy and nausea. Also; repeated use can totally wreck your nerves, making you a drooling nervewreck. Cape of protection An ordinar cape, made out of a new chemical substance called encium, very expensive; yet incredibly durable. A thin cloth resists fire/acid easily. And a triple layer stops a .45 caliber bullet (with the sideeffect that all pressure equalizes over the entire suit, probably cracking a rib or two). Also, its 100% solid, making the wearer sweaty, and preventing the skin from breathing. This material is also used for divingsuits. Bloodcurse pill Chemical substances combined; changes the blood structure and production to become quite acidlike, rendering the subject dead (all internal organs cease to function), a vampire drinking blood from the subject gets <BP> aggravated wounds (internally), also he does not gain any blood from it. The effect is instant; from the moment you swallow the pill; the blood has been fullily tainted in 2 seconds. The pill is crushed between the thumb / index finger, and then sniffed (for maximum effect). Other aids of vampire termination:

Stake gun Appears like a double barreled shotgun, yet each nozzle contains a black projectile; which upon impact of an object extends six spikes in the front part (if aimed right, these all penetrates the heart). Recoil is extreme, and effective weapon range is 100 meters. (dam 6) Napalm/Phosphorthrower Vampires dont really like fire, so this weapon is like an ordinary rifle/gun; except that instead of regular ammoclips, there are small tanks filled with phosphoric napalm. (burns under water/sticks permanently to skin tissue (the fluid enters the pores)). Effect on mortal/kindred is fatal, a full hit deals death. (dam 10 + 4/turn (burns for 20 turns, cannot be extinguished with any substance but a chemical acid (parahydroxygendioxide) which causes aggravated wounds itself. (3agg/full body treatment ==death to a mortal, due to the fumes are deadly) (an encium suit protects the bearer for 5 turns/layer.) Boltthrower Shoots 6 inch bolts/spikes with a head, often used to pin down the target to a surface, these were used for houses, but were modified by CoC-techlabs to suit their needs, the spikes are made in titanium, and penetrate concrete without difficulty. Also has an automaticfunction, with a firecapacity of 4 rounds/second. (dam 4)(special effect: if damage >3, total penetration==pinned to a surface)) Laser rifle This entire body equipment is fastened with an energycell (like a big backpack) with a sidemounted rifle; that fires focused beams of laser, burning through most surfaces, flesh and other biological tissues are penetrated like a glowing knife; butter. Effects on vampires tend to be even more lethal. (dam 10 agg >4 == tissue burnt through (hole in the arm/stomach)) This weapon can only be fired 10 times, and takes 2 turns to charge, before a second shot. Crossbow The modern crossbow is made in light aluminia, with a red-dot sight; firing bolts with incredible precision, aimed right, these function as stakes, or just dealing some damage. Not seldomly vampirehunters attach a titanium/alumnia entwined chainstring to this; to leash their prey. (dam 5 (+1, depending on the bolt))
