The BAMF League

10 TEAM KEEPER LEAGUE Entry Fee: $50

BAMF

Keeper Fee: $15 per offensive keeper; $5 per defensive keeper (2 offense max; 1 IDP max) Transaction Fee: $.50 per transaction (Transactions during the playoffs will still add to the transaction pool. Money for transaction will be collected at next year's draft.) League Intro If your girlfriend or wife thinks youre obsessed with fantasy football, this league is for you. If you sit at work analyzing stats and sending trades, this league is for you. If you cant stand passive fantasy football managers who give up half way through the season and let your biggest competitor get an easy win, then this league is for you. Everyone in this league has been, or is, involved in a league that has a mix of passive managers that kind of watch football and then there are the serious players like us. The idea was to weed out the weak and only allow the best of the best to play. Things like giving up, unfair trades, dropping your best players in a temper tantrum, not paying, starting injured players, and so on WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. You will be replaced. But because everyone is a Bad Ass Mother Fucker (BAMF) when it comes to fantasy football then we dont have to worry about that. This league is structured as a democracy. Any proposed new or modified rules will be voted on. If you dont like the scoring, waivers, league name, or whatever we will open it up to a vote. We want to build a great league that is as fair and balanced as possible.

Rules:
Payouts Pool Size = $475 entry fees & Keeper Fees ($25 removed from entry for league maintenance trophy, beer bitch, etc.) 1st = 50% Entry Fee + 50% Keeper Fees 2nd = 25% Entry + 25% Keeper Fees 3rd = 15% Entry + 15% Keeper Fees Points Champion 10% Entry + 10% Keeper Fees + Transaction Fees Last Place = Beer Bitch ($50 bar tab at the beginning of next years draft & whatever we decide you might be wearing or doing at the draft) Any changes to the payouts will be determined at the draft and not changed thereafter until the following season. Payouts are currently based on 2012 draft day vote. Draft 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) Offline Draft 20 Rounds Rounds 1-14 = offensive players (14) Rounds 15-20 = defensive players (6) Snake Draft Style (last pick in first round has first pick in second and so on). PAY FEE AT DRAFT. No exceptions. If for some reason you cant attend send someone to draft for you. If you cant find anyone to draft for you, your team will be picked on best available by the computer program (if possible) or by the draft party (no complaints st about your bold move to draft a kicker in the 1 round). If your reason for not attending the draft is horse shit like, I have another draft or I dont care then you lose your team. Draft picks and/or draft positions, cant be traded. Draft positions are based on where your team finished in the playoffs and the draft pick tourney the previous year.

6) 7)

Draft positions are as follows: 1 = Beer Bitch 2 = Beer Bitch Game Winner 3 = Draft Pick Tourney Winner 4 = Draft Pick Tourney Runner Up 5 = Draft Pick Tourney Consolation Winner 6 = Draft Pick Tourney Consolation Runner Up 7 = 3rd Place Game Loser 8 = 3rd Place 9 = 2nd Place 10 = Champion See Playoffs for explanation of the Draft Pick Tourney. Roster Starters = 11 Bench = 9 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 FLEX, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 LB, 1 DB, 1 DL, 9 BN There are no limits on positions; your entire team can be all kickers if you want. Keepers 1) 2) 3) 4) 2 Offensive Keepers, 1 Defensive Keeper. Keepers lock exactly one week before draft. A draft pick will be given up one pick earlier than where the player was drafted in the previous year. Example: Team A drafts Ray Rice in the 3rd Round in 2011 Draft. If Ray Rice is kept for 2012, he will be Team A's 2nd round pick in the 2012 Draft. If a player is selected in the 1st round he cannot be kept the following year and goes back into the draft pool st since no draft position can be sacrificed. This also applies to a player kept in place of a 1 round pick. Example: 2011 Ray Rice Drafted in 3rd Round 2012 Ray Rice Kept as 2nd Round Pick 2013 Ray Rice Kept as 1st Round Pick 2014 Ray Rice Cant be kept Offensive keeper minimum draft position=10th Round. If a player is drafted from the 11th round and on, or picked up in free agency, the player will be counted as the managers 10th round pick the following year. Example: A player drafted in the 14th round can only be kept as a minimum of the teams 10th round pick not their 13th. th th 6) If multiple offensive players are drafted or kept beyond the 11th round, then they will count as the 9 and 10 th th round picks. The manager can then decide which player will be the 9 pick and 10 pick of their two keepers. 7) No defensive keeper minimum draft position since defensive draft is only 6 rounds. Free agent defensive players th will count as your 6 round pick. 8) Keepers can only be kept from the managers final roster or acquired during a trade. No players can be picked up in the off-season. The off-season is defined as the end of the last game of the NFL regular season (Week 17). 9) Players acquired through a trade retain their original draft value. 10) If a player is dropped and picked up by another manager then their original draft value is erased. 11) IR Rule - The IR rule applies to players placed on the IR by their respective NFL team, while on a managers roster. If a player is dropped before being placed on the IR then their draft value is erased, as usual. If they are dropped after being placed on the IR then their draft value remains although in the free agency pool. Any player can pick up this player however they are exempt from the free agency keeper rule and will keep their original draft pick value. 5)

Playoffs 1) 2) 3) 6 team playoff. Seeding will be by overall record. Top 2 teams with the best overall records get a buy in the first round. If theres a tie in overall record, then total points for will be used to decide seeding then followed by head-to-head record if points are tied. th th th Playoffs start in the 14 week and end in the 16 week; 3 Rounds. The 17 week has been eliminated due to the possibly that teams may rest their starters hence your best fantasy players on your team may not play.

The playoffs are structured as follows: Round 1(Week 14) Bye: 1 seed & 2 seed G1: 3 seed v 6 seed G2: 4 seed v 5 seed none G3: 7 seed v 10 seed G4: 8 seed v 9 seed G = Game Round 2 (Week 15) G5: 1 seed v Winner G2 G6: 2 seed v Winner G1 G7: Winner G3 v Loser G1 G8: Winner G4 v Loser G2 G9: Loser G3 v Loser G4 CG = Championship Game Round 3 (Week 16) CG: Winner G5 v Winner G6 G10: Loser G5 v Loser G6 G11: Winner G7 v Winner G8 G12: Loser G7 v Loser G8

Youre either playing for money, your draft position the following year, or not to be beer bitch. Acquisition and Waiver Rules 1) 1 day waiver period. (See Amendment # 1 reason for changing from 2 day to 1 day) 2) Waiver order is set by last claim. Example - If you pick up a player through the waiver system then you move to last on the list. Trades 1) Trade approval is by commissioner with "second" by the assistant commissioner. If either is involved in a trade then a 3rd league member would need to second. Again, this is only to prevent shenanigans, the trade can be somewhat lopsided in your opinion just can't be completely unfair that suggests collusion. The grace period is 2 days until the trade goes through by itself. (Approval was discussed and decided at 2012 draft) 2) Trades Final When Accepted - When trading, it is the responsibility of the managers to research the players traded or acquired. For example, if a player is unknowingly injured to one of the managers and they get burned, it is their fault for not researching the health of that player. Once both managers click accept the trade is final. It doesnt matter if you accidentally hit the button, your child logged on made trades, or anything else. I will only veto a trade if I suspect that foul play is involved that will jeopardize the integrity of the league. Like if a trade is unfair to the point that cheating is in question. All other trades will be accepted. 3) The trade deadline is the ESPN default. New or Modified Rules 1) All changes to the rules will be made at the draft and will not change thereafter until the following season. Scoring will be determined prior to the draft for draft planning purposes. Why? Changes to scoring immediately before the draft can negatively affect draft strategy which for some has already started. 2) Any suggested rule changes will need a vote. This can be done at the draft or through the message board. Once posted on the message board, managers will have 4-7 days to vote unless there is a time constraint.

Explanation of Scoring Changes from Standard (Info based on 2010 stats) Our league scoring is slightly modified from standard scoring. Some variations are shown below: Scoring Category QB Int BAMF League -3 Standard League -2 Explanation Example: QB1 with a stat line of 2-TD 1-Int 300-yds would score the same as a QB2 with 2-TD 0-Int 250-yds in standard scoring. This is saying that an INT is equal to 50 yds of passing. I disagree and so does the NFL. Assuming that QB1 & QB2 had the same comp % of 66.6%, QB1s QB Rating would be 107.6 and QB2 would have a QB Rating of 114.6. Since only starting 1 QB, and other primary positions start 2 (RB & WR), it makes the position closer in value to the others. Explanation below in Scoring Math. No points per reception make a league RB dominate where a full point per reception make a league WR & catching RB dominate. point has statistically shown to level the playing field. Explanation below in Scoring Math. Last time I checked a FG worthy of any special attention is 50+ yards. Is it really fair to dock a kicker for missing a 60 yard attempt? It just doesnt seem right. Tackles, whether solo or assisted count as 1 point. This can sometimes be scored as 1.5 for solo and .5 for assisted. We could discuss. However going any higher would devalue big play scoring (Int, Sack, FF) In 2012 Tim Jennings led the league with 9 Ints or 45 fantasy points, where JJ Watt had 20.5 sacks, which is 82 points. So this high total is small in the big picture and gives the DB position a little credit or bump. Again, with JJ Watt, he led the league in sacks and was still not the nd highest scoring IDP (2 ). Making Ints and Sacks worth more makes our league more of a big play IDP league vs. a high-tackle league. Same as above. Same as above.

A few that may be included in the future and discussed at the draft are: Passes Defended Tackle for Loss Tackle - 1.5 for solo and .5 for assisted Scoring Math The scoring was setup using several mathematical formulas to balance each position. Many times leagues favor a specific position where others seem unimportant. Most often it is either the RB, WR, or QB position that is favored. In order to balance each position averages and counts were taken for each position. So here are some of the numbers with the current scoring system based on 2010 stats: Offense Top 20 RB Average Pts = 221.05 Top 20 WR Average Pts = 204.9 Top 10 QB Average Pts = 328.45 The number of starters in each position was also accounted for. For example assuming that each team has a RB1 from the top 10 RB's and an RB2 from the top 11-20. RB1 Avg Pts + RB2 Avg Points = RB Position Avg Value or 252.5 + 189.6 = 442.1

You can also get the same results by doubling the average where there are two starters. Here are the primary position values as close as I could get them without severely changing from standard fantasy football scoring: 2 RB's = 442.1 2 WR's = 409.8 1 QB = 328.45 Note that Kickers, RB/WR Flex and TE's were not included. TE scoring follows the same as WR as well as the flex. For kickers...well, are fucking kickers so they count but not as much. Also note that the QB position as a whole is not as high valued as RB's and WR's but there really isn't much more we can do to give them a boost. Another comparison was made to determine the makeup of the Top 10, 25, & 50 WR/RB since these two positions often provide the most controversy. Top 10 = 6 RB & 4 WR Top 25 = 14 RB & 11 WR Top 50 = 23 RB & 27 WR So you can see that the split by WR/RB position is as even as possible. So if you don't have a top 5 RB or top 2 QB it doesn't mean your season is shot. In this league, building a championship team is done by drafting each position evenly rather than stocking up in one category that completely dominates. Final Note This did not take long to put together as you may think. Most of these rules were a collaboration of several leagues I have been in over the past 10 years including the calculations. Again, at the draft or in the message board we will discuss any modifications to the rules and vote. All I ask is to be open minded. Maybe we try it one way this year and try it another the next. That is the beauty of a keeper league. Good luck. Sincerely, Tom Commissioner, Former Champion, Current Beer Bitch Amendment # 1 The wavier period is now 1 Day instead of 2 because of the Thursday games. If you noticed, almost all the free agent players have the waiver rule applied. After the Monday game any waivers would have went through on Thursdays (2 day waiver period). If there was a Thursday game and your waiver went through then your window for changing your lineup was somewhat small, 12 hours assuming you wake up at 8am and the game starts at 8pm. I felt like this window was somewhat small. So now a waiver after the Monday games will go through on Wednesdays which allows more than 24 hours to adjust your roster.
