The Capital City of Albany is located in the heart of New York’s Tech Valley,
within a few hours’ drive of New York City, Boston and Montreal. Located along

CDTA
The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) offers over
50 regional, easy to ride public bus routes, with 29 connecting to
downtown Albany. Fare is $1.50 for each ride, or $4.00 for an all day
pass, purchasable on the bus. 3 Day Visitors passes are available
for $10.00 at the Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
CDTA system maps and riders’ guides are available at local tourist
agencies, public libraries or online.

Parking Meters: All Downtown Albany’s streets are metered. There are
two different types of meters. Pay and Display Meters accept Credit Cards
(Visa, Mastercard and Discover) and all US coins except pennies. And,
Single Space Meters accept only U.S. quarters, gold-colored (Sacagawea
and Presidential) dollar coins and CASHKEYS. Other coins will not register time
on the meters.
Pay and Display Meters are long term meters that allows 10 hours of parking.
Single Space Meters generally allow parking for 1 to 10 hours with the most
common duration that is 2 hours. Signs are posted every block, advising of the
parking time limit for meters.
On-Street Meters operate Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM, with the
exception of certain national holidays. Off-Street Meters operate Monday through
Saturday all day long.
A prepaid CASHKEY for use in the meters is available via the Albany Parking
Authority at 655 Broadway Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-3:45 PM or it can be purchased
online at parkalbany.com.

22 River Way Pedestrian Bridge and
Albany Riverfront Park
The pedestrian bridge that connects downtown Albany to the Albany
Riverfront Park is lined with 30 lampposts, each featuring a one-of-a
kind mural. On the far side of the bridge, Albany Riverfront Park is
home to an 800-seat amphitheatre. An on-site visitor center houses an
explanation of the Hudson River’s tides. The park also features a bike trail
and boat launch.

Step back in time aboard the last Destroyer Escort warship in WWII battle
configuration. See how crew members lived and carried out its mission
of the anti-submarine warfare. The ship’s armaments, combat information
and radio rooms, pilot house, officer’s country, galley, mess and crew

For over 24 years, Alive @ 5 has kept downtown Albany’s spirits high
