ICSET
The International Conference on Sustainable Environmental Technologies (ICSET), formerly the Asian Pacific Regional Conference, was organized to address various environmental issues, with emphasis on identifying appropriate technologies to address them. Participants from all over the world attend the annual gathering to discuss pollution management such as water, solid waste, hazardous waste and air pollution, among others. The first ICSET was held in 2011 at Seoul National University in South Korea. King Mongkuts University of Technology Thonburi in Bangkok, Thailand hosted the second ICSET, which was attended by participants from Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Australia, India, Indonesia, Korea, and the United States. Mapa Institute of Technology, the leading technological school in the Philippines, has been chosen to host the third ICSET in 2013. The 2013 conference theme is Education and Training for the Uptake of Sustainable Environmental Technologies-Enhancing Knowledge Base for Poverty Alleviation. The plenary speaker will be Mr. Mahesh Pradhan, current head of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Environmental Education and Training Unit (EETU), Nairobi, Kenya. The Keynote Speaker is Dr. Nuna Almanzor, the Executive Director of ITDI-DOST, Philippines. More countries are expected to attend the 2013 ICSET.
