MISSION
Create a community-wide movement to raise money and awareness to accelerate lifesaving cancer research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, one of the top cancer research institutes in the world.

Date: August 10-11, 2013 Location: Start and finish at Magnuson Park, Seattle, Wash.; ride goes through approximately 25 Puget Soundarea communities Participants: Thousands of riders, volunteers, cancer survivors and community members will participate in the inaugural bike ride and celebrations 100 percent of every dollar raised benefits lifesaving cancer research at Fred Hutch Goal: $2.5 million

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Friday, August 9: Kick-off Celebration at Gas Works Park, 4 p.m. 9:30 p.m. This exclusive party, catered by Tom Douglas, is for registered riders and their guests to recognize their hard work. Michael Franti & Spearhead will be headlining the celebration from 7:30 p.m. 9 p.m. Saturday, August 10: All four rides start at 7:30 a.m. at Magnuson Park. The 25-, 50- and 100-mile riders finish at Magnuson Park, with the first riders arriving back around 9:30 a.m. Finish line festival goes from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 180-mile riders finish day one at University of Puget Sound in Tacoma where they overnight. Sunday, August 11: 180-mile riders depart University of Puget Sound at 7:30 a.m. and arrive back at Magnuson Park between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Day two finish line festival goes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Registration remains open until 7:15 a.m. on Aug. 10. Sign up at http://obliteride.org/register.
*Minimum age to ride is 14 for all routes, except riders must be 18+ to ride the 180-mile route. ** Fundraising continues until October 1, 2013.

2. FUNDRAISE: Virtual riders simply create a fundraising page on Obliteride.org, donate $25, then ask everyone they know to donate to cancer research. 3. VOLUNTEER: Volunteers are the backbone of Obliteride. Approximately 600 volunteers will be supporting riders and all aspects of event operations.

FRED HUTCH FACTS


Mission: the elimination of cancer and related diseases as causes of human suffering and death. Hutch research is saving thousands of lives each year. From Nobel Prize-winning work on bone-marrow transplantation, researchers are now focusing on advancing immunotherapy, learning to harness the bodys natural ability to fight cancer cells with less toxicity. Hutch scientists are doing game-changing research in pancreatic cancer therapy and tumor paint that could radically increase survival rates.
