How to read and understand the Holy Quran. 1. As most of us do not understand arabic, the next best thing isto get . a translation 2. Be open minded, and dont jump to conclusions. 3. If you find the meaning unacceptable, read the verses above and below it, to understand the context. Please remember it was revealed in 23 years, and in some instances , as a direct reply to certain incidents at that time, the lesson could be applied even now. 4. The Quran directs us to ask people of knowledge, if something cannot be understood. This does not mean you have to ask a religious scholar, but a person of knowledge in that subject. Eg Quran speaks about mountains reproduction, sea, nervous system, fingerprints, the womb., even history. 5. Finally, on all other matters if there is still questions on the clarity of the meaning , you may have to refer to the sayings of the Prophet(pbuh), scientifically compiled set of books called Hadiths, which will have explanations. This is a mainly for in depth knowledge. MAY ALL OF US RECEIVE ENLIGHTMENT. *** Time to Reflect on Truth
