WE NEED TO BURN OUR MORTGAGE

The bible says in Isaiah 43:18 -19, Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. As we move forward, pursuing the promise that God made to us, this text is important. It encourages us to let go of those things that once were, and prepare to embrace what is to come. In an effort to move forward and continue to be disciplined disciples, its important that we begin to let go of the former things! For this reason we are initiating a campaign to burn our mortgage! Our existing mortgage for our church family symbolizes a strongwith the removal of this stronghold from our life! This will be accomplished by THE ENTIRE FAMILY COMING TOGETHER. You will be hearing in greater detail all of the specifics about our efforts from our Deacons in the coming days, if not already. We will be bringing this Mortgage Burning Campaign to a close on Sunday, December 29, 2013. Our campaign celebration and final tally announcement will take place during our Watch Night Worship experience on December 31, 2013. God is doing a thing...do you see it? new

Our goal is to burn our mortgage this year and in this issue are important nuggets which show how you can help do that! We are Shifting toward GREATER!

ONE NATION! ONE VOICE!

August Birthdays 6 By the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ I appeal to all of you, my friends, to agree in what you say, so that there will be no divisions among you. Be completely united, with only one thought and one purpose. (1 Cor. 1:10) In order to strengthen unity among our church family, our Deacons Ministry have what they call, Family Ministries: Each Deacon team has a group of families for which they are responsible. These family ministries have been broken down into 5 individual tribes. All members are in a particular tribe and each tribe has leaders (your family Deacons), and an assistant (a trustee) who together will make up your tribes elders. While we are encouraged to identify with our particular tribes, when we come together we are known as the nation! And no matter what your tribe does individually, we will still be ONE NATION with ONE VOICE!

WHAT TRIBE ARE YOU IN?

Because our Mortgage Burning Campaign will be done through tribal contributions, its important for you to find out to which tribe you belong. On these pages are listed each tribe and a list of those in each tribe (broken down according to alphabetic grouping). Please go through the list and find your name. If you dont see your name, please contact a tribal leader so we can be sure to include your name in the appropriate list. Please notice all of our tribes have a color ascribed to them. Whenever your tribe comes together for any occasion, particularly if the entire nation is coming together, its important to wear your tribes color so you can be easily identified according to your tribal colors. As well you will notice scriptural references for your tribe, in case you want to read about your tribes history.

ITS THE LEAST I CAN DO...

Our Treasurer, Trustee Pearl White worked up a mathematical schematic to show what we could accomplish if everyone would commit to at least a tithe of their income. This schematic is based upon only 100 active tithers, making only minimum wages $7.25 per/hr for a 40 hour work week. A 40 hour work week = $290 Tithes of $29 and sacrificial/Love offering of $1 = $30 per week $30 per week X 4 weeks = $120 per month per active tither $120 X 100 members = $12,000 per month (We need to make at least $10,000 to cover expenses) $12,000 per month X 12 months = $ 144,000 per year Just a glimpse of what we could do if we all committed to tithing and thats on minimum wage! Imagine what we could do with the income that we make. Its the least we could do!

A family committed to connecting our community with our creator by providing inspiring worship, empowering discipleship, inviting outreach, and engaging fellowship. Why do we do this? We do this because no one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in union with us, and his love is made perfect in us. What is our aim? Can You See It Yet?

I want to remind us we are called to this community for a greater work. Everyday we are becoming a caring community committed to strengthening our churchs facility while increasing our congregations faithfulness, as we keep our community in focus. As we are currently not worshiping in our facility (3014 Meadowbridge Road), it is critical that we do everything within our means to continue the good work weve begun: Our building must be restored and renovated for greater work. It is equally important to increase our congregations faithfulness in stewardship, discipleship, worship, and workmanship. This will call for us to commit to family study and to finding a ministry in which we can serve. We must also continue to keep our community in focus. We must explore ways we can partner and share the load of ministry in our community. The Bethlehem Center property remains in view and by faith I still believe that we can claim it, if indeed its Gods will. It can house an afterschool ministry/daycare and a school where young people can be educated naturally and spiritually in the same place. Further, it should be our desire to be able to purchase other properties around us in order to offer additional services to our community.
