SAN LUIS REY TRIDUUM AND FEAST DAY

Come join us for a week of celebra ng our Patron Saint, San Luis Rey! On the evenings of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday there will be gatherings in the Old Mission, leading up to the celebraon of the Feast Day. Each evening will be hosted by a parish cultural community.

Our Bereavement Ministry is in need of new ministers. Our ministry is to comfort and assist families as they go through the process of planning the Mass of Resurrecon for their loved ones and to serve during that Mass in a demonstra on of community and love. If you are interested in joining this Ministry as a server (involves altar serving and Eucharis c ministry), or a Bereavement minister (involves planning of Masses with families and assis ng during the Mass), please contact Be y Muszynski at (760) 419-3355. PREPARATION
Imagine the following scene: you sit down in your school desk. The teacher walks the aisle, placing the paper before you, face down. You set your watch. You will have exactly one hour to do the test. You turn the paper over. Then it hits you: you never took any notes. You never studied or did even one assignment. For a student, lack of prepara on is the nightmare of nightmares. Jesus talks about the need for prepara on in todays Gospel. God is pleased to give us the kingdom, Jesus says. Gird your loins and light your lamps. See that you are prepared. Jesus teaching reminds us of the ques on once posed to St. Francis de Sales and his companions, who, according to the story, were playing billiards. What would you do if you knew the end of the world was coming in one hour? The friends of Francis shared various plo ngs of how they would get their aairs in order. Most men oned prayer. Francis shrugged, I would con nue doing what I am doing. Are you ready to meet the Lord?

LUPES CD FOR SALE

Our very own Director of Worship has made his rst CD available for sale at the parish oce during the week. This project is tled: Mis Momentos con Dios, is his rst recording from a couple of years back. Though it is in Spanish, part of the proceeds from the sale will go to the recording of an English language CD which will hopefully be available later this year. The coming CD will include songs that the English speaking community enjoys. Thank you for your support! CDs are $10 for one or 2 for $15. First Communion preparation may begin in the second grade; the preparation for the Sacrament is a two year process. A copy of the childs Baptism Certificate is required. You may register your child the following ways: Fill out forms located in the Parish Office. Print out forms from our website, and then mail them to the Parish Office with your payment. Paperless On Line Registration with Q-Pay at sanluisreyparish.org Tuition for each student is $55. Full payment of tuition is requested at the time of registration, if possible.

PRE-CONFIRMATION & CONFIRMATION

Eligibility: To enroll a student for Confirmation they must have been attending a Catholic Formation program or Catholic High School within the last two years and are at least 15 years of age by June 30, 2014. Any young person not eligible to enroll at this time is directed to enroll in the Pre-Confirmation program in order to be eligible for classes the following year. The fee for Pre-Confirmation is $55. The Registration fee for Confirmation is $150.00, which includes the cost of workshops and the Confirmation Retreat. Registration for all programs closes on September 8 . Please organize your calendar to not miss the window of registration if you would like your child to be enrolled in our program. Registration for returning students is already open. LAS INSCRIPCIONES PARA FORMACIN DE FE TERMINAN EL 8 DE SEPTIEMBRE

Para inscribir a sus hijos en el Programa de Formacin de Fe (Catecismo) necesitan estar inscritos como miembros de la parroquia, si an no estn inscritos en la parroquia, pueden hacerlo en la ocina parroquial o por internet antes de inscribir a sus hijos en el Programa de Formacin de Fe. PRE-KINDER A 8 GRADO La preparacin para la Primera Comunin empieza en el segundo grado escolar; la preparacin para el Sacramento es de dos aos. Se requiere una copia del Cer cado de Bau smo del nio/a. Pueden inscribir a sus hijos de la siguiente manera: Completando la forma de inscripcin localizada en la Ocina Parroquial. Imprimiendo la forma de nuestro si o de web, y envindola por correo junto con su pago a la Ocina Parroquial. Completando la Inscripcin en lnea (internet) y hacer su pago por Q-pay en: sanluisreyparish.org La matrcula por cada estudiante es de $55. Se requiere el pago completo en el momento de la inscripcin, si es posible. PRE-CONFIRMACIN Y CONFIRMACIN Elegibilidad: Para inscribir a un estudiante para Conrmacin ellos deben de haber asis do a un programa de Formacin de Fe o a una Preparatoria Catlica dentro de los l mos dos aos y que tengan haya cumplido 15 aos de edad para el 30 de junio del 2013. Cualquier joven que no sea elegible para inscribirse en este momento es dirigido a inscribirse en el Programa de Pre-Conrmacin con el n de ser elegible para la clase de Conrmacin el prximo ao. El costo para Pre-Conrmacin es de $55. El Costo de la inscripcin para Conrmacin es de $150 e incluye los talleres y el Re ro de Conrmacin. Las inscripciones en todos los programas cierran el 8 de sepembre. Favor de organizar sus calendarios para no perderse las fechas de inscripcin si desean que sus hijos estn inscritos en nuestro programa de Formacin de Fe. Padres de Familia y feligreses de nuestra parroquia, si un sacerdote o dicono les ofrece el sacramento de bau smo, conrmacin, primera comunin, quince aos, matrimonio o funeral, en su hogar o en un saln en el Condado de San Diego ese sacerdote o dicono NO es reconocido por nuestra Dicesis de San Diego. Siendo as, los sacramentos NO enen validez y son ilcitos (no permi dos). Nuestro Obispo Roberto Brom ha sido muy claro de que stos Sacramentos sean administrados SOLAMENTE dentro de las Parroquias.
